“The room has a smell of cigarette smoking and the air conditioning was broken in our room. We managed to move into another room with a floor cooler. When we were packing to move, a person who claimed to be the manager of the hotel called our room and told us to vacate the room right that moment. He was very impolite. In the room which we switched to, it still felt hot like outside at 33 degrees as the window was not securely taped, therefore there was a leak in the window caused by the air duct……

“We’ve been coming to Newport for years and we always stay here. It’s a great property in the center of downtown. The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly. We also left something in the room after our stay and the hotel was so quick in shipping it back to us! We really appreciated it. ”

“We’ve stayed at Hammetts before and as always, the service was wonderful. It is centrally located to all of downtown Newport so we were able to walk everywhere. The room was quiet and clean, we will definitely stay again.”

“This hotel is very beautiful and clean. Only downfall is that they don’t have an elevator, but it’s a very beautiful hotel . I definitely would recommend this place . Only con that I have , is that we went on this trip with 6 kids ages from 5-14 and the younger kids were playing in the living room ( away from everyone ) and the host were telling guest that the kids are in the living room and they won’t be making noise. I don’t like anyone talking about my family to other people. ”

“Great place, very simple and well stocked for any needs. Lots of free streaming channels. Fans, AC and heat available to make yourself comfortable. By no means a concern with the stay itself but if you stay here i would recommend personal means of transportation. ”

Disappointing. Broken Air Conditioning.
