This property offers a beachfront balcony which was so lovely to enjoy, but the AC unit was so loud you couldn't really hear the waves once inside. Good news, the gap between the adjoining room's door allowed the couple's decibel 10 conversation into our room so effectively, that the AC unit was the least of our worries at 6:45 a.m. But, barring a rambunctious duo from Tennessee next door, it's a very nice place to stay for the Gulf view and proximity to restaurants, balcony, white sand beach, pier, etc.

This property was dirty and looked very old. The whole facility smelled awful like marijuana. The staff members smelled like marijuana when approaching you. Also, our room had no washcloths on first night. They did bring some and on the second night again no washcloths. We called and never got any. The hotel is on a nice part of the beach and the pools were nice. I expected more of the facility for the price. They also let in people from the community who were loud, saying profanity in front of the kids and obnoxious at the pools.

I felt as though the pictures online were taken a long time ago. The rooms were not well represented. Very small, somewhat run down, didn’t feel super clean, stains in the shower, barely any room in the bathrooms, floor was peeling up, shower water sprays everywhere as there is only a half door. Beach bar overpriced, no children’s menu in the restaurant despite the number of families. Very limited breakfast buffet, expected much more fresh items. And at least warm eggs instead of cold.

Very small rooms, dirty with mold and clogged sink. The wallpaper was peeling off the wall, and throughout the interior of the hotel. The large pool was not heated, the drinks were $17 each, very limited overpriced food menu. The overwhelming smell of marijuana had us leave the hotel the day before our stay was up… I called to complain several times and they simply stated there was nothing they could do, it was a nonsmoking property. Nice view if you stay in the beach house, the only positive at this hotel for the price point.

We love coming to the Island Resort. It was our 3rd time coming and staying there. It waa our first time staying in a junior suite. We were excited to stay on the dune view junior suite, but when we arrived to the room everything was great except the lock on the dune view patio door lock was broken. We called the front desk and they sent maintenance to come check it. The maintenance tech was very nice and professional. He said he could not fix the lock at that time but got it approved to get our room switched. It was a good decision and the staff were very helpful and switched us to the 3rd floor. We had beautiful view of the water. We were very happy with all the staff. We will be back to visit again. Thank you 😊

I’ve stayed here multiple times throughout the years and this trip was by far the most disappointing. I checked out one day earlier than planned and was assured that I would receive a refund since I checked out before 11 am, 2 weeks later and I’m still waiting. stayed here for a weekend and we loved the place. it offers you everything you need to just go and spend some days without the stress of going to the beach. they have beach rentals (you have to pay for them tho / but you can also lay on the sand), access to the beach and to a nice boardwalk. grotto pool is amazing. they have 2 bars and drinks were good. also buffet breakfast was good as well. i would definitely go back. room were nice and comfortable. really recommended this place.

Honestly, we were skeptical about The Island after seeing some unfavorable TikTok reviews. However, the price for a balcony, gulf view room, the location, and the beautiful property w/waterfalls changed our minds. The staff was professional and welcoming, that's really, overall, the most important thing for us! Some things could be improved, of course, but not a big enough deal to report. It was close Destin, and all of our excursions, the bars had great drinks, the locals were charming people, I could go on. It was a good time!!! We go right back tomorrow, if possible!

It was amazing! Nice location for the pools and beach. I couldn’t believe all the things they got around them. Everything pretty much walking distance. I loved it. I’ll be booking me a stay again soon.

Would recommend this resort and would love to come back sometime. Loved the restaurant and different bars and the ability to walk next door to several restaurants. Staff was friendly and especially enjoyed the many different areas to relax in.

The room was very dirty. Floors still had sand on them from previous stay, dirt stains on the floor, shower still had black sand left. Air conditioning was very unreliable so the room was so muggy all of our stuff was damp. Front desk wasn’t very friendly or helpful when we had a billing issue.
