Ocean front fun

Honestly, and personally, I would stay here again. There are some imperfections throughout the house and deck, so if you are someone that wants perfection do not stay here. You get what you pay for. These imperfections did not change how I feel and how it fit my family perfectly. We did not spend too much time inside the house. We were outside majority of our stay.

Perfect Beach House

This home was great for our couples retreat. It is the perfect beach house. You cannot beat the proximity to the beach. The view from the deck is amazing. Keep in mind that this is an older home so it is a little more rustic but we absolutely loved it. The bedrooms were comfortable and clean. Each room has its own bathroom making it very convenient for an older beach house. It's querky but cute. It is close to restaurants and shops and you can walk the beach to the pier which is free. A short trip to the lighthouse is a must! Kayaks, boogie boards, and surf boards are provided. Wish we had more time to stay and explore. Truly a wonderful experience.

Comfortable and relaxing.

Very clean. Sleeps 8 comfortably. We had 10, so one adult had to use the basement. Futons are not comfortable. Fortunately we brought an inflatable. Obviously previous issues were addressed. The grandkids were delighted to find surf boards downstairs. Someone mentioned dirty windows: it's ocean front! You should have seen my van at the end of the week. It was a very comfortable and relaxing stay. See you next year.

Amazing Views

Loved the views in this home! It is a little older, so I wouldn't label this home as "extravagant" but the views are incredible and it gets the job done. I loved that many of the rooms had their own bathroom and the beach was very private- never saw more than 3 other people at a time that we didn't know but most of the time had it to ourselves. Very close to town- only a mile or two away :) Would definitely stay here again!

The location of the house on the island was great and being right one the beach was very nice. We liked that it had the king sized beds and plenty of bathrooms. Large kitchen.

The perfect beach house

We stayed here with our family of 7 and 2 dogs. Adults, kids and an infant. The house was perfect for us. Space and rooms for everyone to spread out. The property has a rustic charm which I appreciate. The house has a such a cozy feel that you know hundreds of memories were made there. We had the best time and the memories we made are now imprinted on the house too. It’s a time we’ll never forget. Location was amazing. I love this rustic charm beach property. I highly recommend. Good location and space but needs improvement

While the space and location of this property is great, including good amenities such as kayaks and boogie boards, there is much room for improvement. They have a cockroach problem in the kitchen which was pretty gross - we killed multiple every night in the cabinets / on the counters / on the floor. There is a leak in the basement where water pools, making the room unusable. The cleaning crews also entered unannounced 2 hours early for check out. I would not come back unless they fixed these problems.

Take the inside with a grain of sand.

The description was right on. The inside of the house is worn but very comfortable. The house provided everything we needed. The outdoor area was great plenty of seating and large deck. You can hear the ocean even inside.We had 6 adults and 2 children with plenty of space.We all said we would stay there again. Hour was very clean.

Great location…a little run down

The location was phenomenal, right on the water and extremely private. The house wasn’t in the best shape - floors were wavy, three of us got splinters from the top deck but livable. My biggest concern was cleanliness. The floors were dirty, one of the couches looked like it had a urine stain, just not what we expected for the price we paid. Great location though, couldn’t ask for a better area for a family.

Okay for a short stay

The house was ok for a short stay. It was farther down the beach and we were pretty secluded so that was nice. Wifi never worked so we couldn’t ever use the tv or our iPads. And no one came out to fix it after we called. The house is in level in spots and the master door doesn’t shut all the way. And the master deck door doesn’t work. We definitely weren’t worried about keeping the floors spotless, so that was a good thing with kids! Master bedroom/bathroom is the nicest, the other beds were fine but pretty creaky. And the bathrooms are dated, but worked fine! The deck was nice and it is steps to the ocean! We also never got the mini split to work, but the central heat/air worked fine. There were also a lot of lightbulbs out, so that was weird. The house was fine for the 3 nights we stayed, but we’ll be staying somewhere else when we come back and stay longer.

Just Beachy

This could be an excellent house with just a little love. Pros: Kitchen is nice and well stocked Deck and view fantastic. Extra props for the nice deck furniture. Best I've seen at most rentals I've used Location is great Cons: Water pressure is really bad Needs a DEEP cleaning. Not the type the cleaning crew does between renters, but a all day clean. Interior doors are disgusting. Dust covering whole wood ceiling in bedroom. Had to vacuum just so I could sleep in there. Sheets in 2 rooms fine. Room with wood ceiling was fitted sheet on top of a plastic water proof mattress pad. Sheet didn't fit bed. 2 bathrooms need work. One in pink room had mold behind toilet, and shower head wasn't tall enough for an adult to use Needs new couches. They're dirty and broke down from use. Don't bother cleaning them. Waste of money My visit was in cooler months, but I can tell the A/C set up will be a problem in the summer. Does not have central air. It has one mini split and several window units. Won't cut it in July The floors do slope, but not an issue for me. Tons of houses in downtown Charleston have this. It's a Charleston thing. I gave it 4 stars as I would stay here again if some updates were made. The owner needs to put some profits back into this place and they would have a real gem. As it currently stands. Not worth the high weekly rent for me. I should add Vacasa was great. it's not their job to make these kind of changes, it's the owners responsibility

Great Beach Location, house not so great

We liked the idea that this rental home was on the beach and allowed dogs, as we often travel with our 8 lb maltese. The location of Just Beachy is great, and the deck on the house with chairs is terrific, but the house makes it seem that they are making only minor repairs to keep it renting. Here are some of the issues: the "bedroom" where the twin beds are housed is VERY small (maybe 5' x 6') and seems to have been a foyer that has been walled off to make a bedroom. When in use this blocks the front door entrance, unless you want to disturb the person(s) sleeping there or using that room. the TV in one of the master bedrooms never worked. 2 repair people from Vacasa were sent out, and each said the signal from the Comcast modem was too low for it to work in that room. There are a few places in the hardwood floors that need repairs from what looks like termite damage that spans at least a foot long. 2 toilet paper holders and one robe hook were found broken when we arrived. The sliding glass door which is the main entrance and exit since the front door is in a bedroom, is quite hard to operate. Not sure if oil and just general maintenance is needed, but a good amount of strength is needed to open/close it. The blinds over the sliding glass door are missing several slats, making me wonder if we were truly able to abide by the "no outdoor lights after 9pm, if we were using the kitchen, dining area, etc, and had lights on. There was no way to stop the light from being seen from the beach. The airflow for A/C has possibly been addressed (as I read many mentions of it in reviews before we stayed there), but we found that all of the bedrooms were hot or stuffy at night if we closed our doors to go to bed. The game room/basement was extremely musty and not a desirable place to hang out. Dim lighting didn't add to the ambience. and the Christmas tree in the corner just made it feel a little creepy. The garbage disposal on one of the sinks didn't work, but the other seemed good. The kitchen overall was in good condition and worked well for our needs. My mother in law mentioned several times that this was a party house. That may be true and if I were in college travelling with friends to go drink at the beach, maybe it would have been fine, but for us, it was just kind of "beat".
