“One-night stay. Issues: Someone had wrecked the outer layer of one of the windows. I was not informed about that before entering my room. Wifi quality was so poor that the room TV couldn't reliably stream a video off Netflix. Beyond that, great location, great staff. ”

“Victoria House is a boutique hotel in downtown Frederiksted, right across from the water. The hotel is eclectic, beautiful and relaxing and it felt like home. Each room is special and welcoming. There is a small wading pool surrounded by nice pool chairs and tables. On site there is a bar called Ruff Night, run by a dog rescue and adoption group. Some days puppies are there! “Our cottage Castaways is a bit rustic but have all the basic things and is comfortable. They had some issues with water supply due to island wide outage, but it was fixed within a day. The beach is very beautiful, easy access and you can snorkel for hours right at the beach, lots of tropical fish, sea turtles. Our cottage was toward the back of the property, so very quiet. Just 50 feet walk from the beach. Some of the beach front cottages were a bit noisy but generally very quiet after 10pm. All……

“Very comfortable stay! Safe and secure location. You will need a Jeep or higher clearance vehicle to navigate the driveway. The amenities that were in the home for us were incredibly appreciated after a long day of travel (snacks, drinks, rum 😉). Watching the sunrise each morning was wonderful! ”

“The location of this property was great. The shoreline was 10-15 yards from our patio. The beach is stony and was best if I wore water shoes. The swimming pool was good, but we used it only once as beaches were so accessible. We had a rental car, which was needed for us to get around and to explore the island. “The host is above and beyond what you could ask for. I definitely recommend this experience for any nature lover. The site was definitely worth the stay to hear all the beautiful sounds of St Croix. One of our favorite parts was watching the lizards in the grass behind the camp stove, there was such a variety and they just hung out without worry of being watched. “We extended our stay by 2 nights and needed a place to stay. The Mermaid worked out fine for us (could use a new mattress) and the view was amazing! The owner was great and very easy to work with and replied to us right away. We did not enjoy the ride to get up there, but we were warned about it in the description. You do need an SUV to travel up there. Thanks for the stay!”

“The house was definitely beyond my expectations. The photos on the site can only give you so much of the imagination. The Host Jared was a true professional. You need to book in order to understand. Very Happy for this choice of Home.”

“We spent 8 days on island and this was the perfect home base for the week. It's not fancy, but it has updated amenities, it's clean, comfortable, has everything you need, (including beach chairs, umbrella and beach towels) minutes from Christiansted-but away from the crowds. When we had questions we just texted the owner and she responded within minutes. Definitely recommend if you're on a mid-range budget. It's worth every penny...”
