Casa de Suenos (House of Dreams) is an adobe style home situated on the high mesa at the North edge of Taos with spectacular views of the Taos mountains and sunsets. With 1,650 square feet of living space it can comfortably accommodate up to 6 people and is eclectically and tastefully decorated. There is also an in-house studio art gallery with work for sale.
The two bedroom suites, which are at separate ends of the house, have new queen and king beds with plush new linens and towels. The master bath has a jacuzzi and walk in shower as well as a full bathroom next to the guest room suite.
The living room offers common area sleeping options, a futon and sofa bed with memory foam in the living room.
A welcoming hot tub sits just outside in a private courtyard accessible through the kitchen or bedroom.
The kitchen is fully equipped with quality cookware, a gas stove and cook top, a full refrigerator/freezer with filtered water and and a large gas grill outside the door on the patio to cook while you're enjoying the mountain views.
A beautiful kiva fireplace warms the living room with plenty of seating to enjoy from three plush couches as well as a large fire pit outdoors.
Casa de Suenos is artist-owned with original colorful Southwest paintings in all the rooms and many cultural touches from our world travels. The home also includes a working studio and gallery of oil paintings by owner and painter Julie Nilsson. Access is with a key provided and visitors are welcome to see current work and what is available for purchase. We can assist with shipping if needed.
Additional amenities include a 42" TV, DVD library and player, fiber optic internet with speed of 45-50 MBS, full stereo system, new washer/dryer with laundry soap provided, iron and ironing board, toaster, micro-wave, coffee pot, pack and play, jacuzzi tub and private shower in the master bath.
As much as you will enjoy the home, you will love the peace and quiet of the open spaces that surround you. You may not have really seen stars and the Milky Way until you have spent an evening here. The sage covered mesa has an old road, immediately accessible from our acreage, which invites cycling, jogging or walking all the way to the Rio Grande Gorge if you like, with views of the mountains around Taos, the Jemez Mountains far to the southwest near Los Alamos and the far western horizon.
The owners visit their Taos home on a regular basis and as a result, it is very well maintained. They are always thinking about what upgrades they need to make - for themselves as well as you.
