Visiting Eastport for the first time, for parts of three nights, including a day-visit to St. Andrews in New Brunswick (bring your passport!) and another day visit to Lubec, ME and West Quoddy Head lighthouse. This is a beautiful area. NB: Be careful on your phone, which will toggle back and forth between Atlantic Time and Eastern Time, depending on whether it is picking up the signal from Canada or US. Eastport is a quiet town, part locals and some tourists, although we never waited for a table at a restaurant or faced a crowd anywhere. Friendly, outgoing people. On an August weekend, we were expecting to face more "activity" in town. We were glad not to. This comfy VRBO property is a very short walk from Water Street, Eastport's "main drag" (although it is only about four blocks long). The apartment is clean, well appointed, feels "fresh," and is decorated tastefully. We felt welcome and comfortable as soon as we arrived. The owners were quick and helpful with communication, and made a good dinner recommendation when we arrived later than expected the first evening. Clothes dryer apparently broke quite recently, and is to be replaced soon. We had a few issues figuring out how to lock and unlock the front door, and it is evident that others have had similar difficulties, as the door knob mechanism is a little loose from people pulling on it. If those are your only concerns and you had a wonderful three night stay, as far as we are concerned, you had a five-star experience!
