The rental is beautiful in decor and furnishings, and well equipped. This is our first time using VACASA, so maybe some of the things we typically bring when renting are part of the VACASA experience or just a feature the owners provided which is much appreciated, but if I know ahead of time, I wouldn't have packed. I brought but didn't need - Toilet Paper, Paper Towels, Dish Soap, Hand Soap, Shampoo, Conditioner, Shower Soap, Dishwasher and Wash Machine Pods. Loved the towels and not having to bring them, along with bedding. The kitchen had a blender and mixer (which I also brought) and was well equipped with everything you need. I appreciated having the refrigerator water dispenser, otherwise, we're using bottled water which results in a lot of bags of recycling. TVs in every room with lots of streaming and live TV options...Great for winding down time in the AM or evening. This truly was a place I could stay and just bring clothes and any personal items needed. I would encourage the owners to add some of the features of what they have available in the description, so others don't bring all that I did.
Outside - Nice area alongside the property for yard games.
A few other notes to be aware of when booking:
- It states the dock is 150 feet from the door. I don't think that's the case. This condo is the furthest from the water and you can't see the water from the property as it is behind other condos built in front of it. At first, we were disappointed that we couldn't see the water, but the place was so beautiful we ended up being OK with that. But be aware that it's a long walk to the dock and if you're taking a cooler I'd suggest having a cooler on wheels.
- The dock - Docks are packed with boats. The assigned parking spot was the last half of a dock on one side. Our boat fit, but there was a pontoon boat parked in front of it (closer to shore), and if the party that owns the pontoon boat were there while we were I'd be very nervous about maneuvering their boat out without hitting another boat.
- Condo stairs - Very visible the set-up of the rental, so it was a choice we made, but if you have joint issues...consider if this is a good fit. I made sure before coming down from the bedroom that I did everything I needed before going to the living area. Just tried to reduce trips up/down stairs.
- Master Bedroom - Beautiful, lots of room with a great master suite and walk-in closet. The problem that I ran into is that there is a balcony area that you can see down to the living area without a door closing off the bedroom area. I am a light sleeper and I could even hear the softest sniffle coming from the living room, so sleeping after anyone else is up wasn't an option. This also includes all bathroom noises being able to be heard from the 2nd floor. A great addition would be to add doors to make the bedroom and bathroom more "private".
- Thermostat/Temperature - This was a problem area. The thermostat is on the 2nd level. If you set the temperature to be comfortable on that level, it was freezing on the bottom level and too hot on the 3rd level. If possible, it would be great if the owners would add zone Heat/AC to adjust each level accordingly, which would also probably save money.
Bottom line - Beautiful rental that's well equipped. The items I mentioned are more for awareness for those renting and the potential for owners to enhance.
