Beautiful building, wonderful location and grounds. Fabulous decor and we had a lovely stay. Just a shame our bedroom window was broken and the shower pressure could have been more powerful. The £50.00 holding deposit which wasn't mentioned in the details was surprise and did detract slightly from the stay.

Beautiful location and hotel. Staff were really helpful and friendly. Rooms were very clean, plenty of space, comfy beds. Excellent evening meal and breakfast with lots of choice. One suggestion - could perhaps be more vegetarian/vegan options such as meat-free sausages and bacon at breakfast. But otherwise a really lovely stay and we look forward to visiting again.

Just returned from a 2 day stay to celebrate an anniversary and have to say it was a lovely hotel. The building and gardens were beautiful and well kept even boasting a small stream! Room was very comfortable and clean as were the restaurant and spa area. Would like to give a mention to Tracy, the restaurant manager and Poppy the waitress. They made sure we were looked after very well and made out stay even more enjoyable. We will be returning.

The hotel grounds is beautiful and located in a beautiful part of the Surrey Hills. We have upgraded our room, although the room is clean but can see all the rust on the window. The hotel facilities is great, we really enjoyed the spa facilities. The bar and dining room also great, we had dinner in the restaurant on our first night, it's not cheap, but the food was great.

Stunning grounds & building. Rooms disappointing, functional decor with little character. Window covered in black mould, chipped sink, cracked tile in bathroom & shower door didn’t close. Poor service from the staff and unwilling to help - especially in the restaurant and bar. We were left waiting to be seated for nearly 10 minutes for breakfast (waiting with an 4 month old baby too) and staff were literally avoiding eye contact when they could see a queue of people waiting to be seated. When we did eventually get to the breakfast buffet, most items had run out and you just had to pick at what was left over. This was the case on both mornings during our stay and applied to the hot breakfast items and even simple things to keep topped up like the pastries, yoghurt, juice etc. Additionally, if you did stand and wait for the eggs to come out from the kitchen they were always underdone. The line for the coffee machine stretched out halfway into the restaurant and the coffee is not worth queuing for. Staff seemed to be busy walking around but plates were piling up on tables and guests left unattended. The room was ok. One very small window for a family room so very little natural light and no view whatsoever. Cleanliness could have been better. Walls are thin and you can hear conversations in adjacent rooms and whatever’s going on in the corridor. The grounds were not that impressive and I wouldn’t go back again or recommend to a friend to be honest. Quite disappointed overall as the website and pictures looked promising.

Loved the building and its wonderful history. The grounds are immaculate and great walking areas to choose from. The spa area/pool were lovely and working well, however a little on the small side. My room was standard/adequate, had everything I needed. Unfortunately the pumps from the pool/spa area are very noisey and could be heard early morning when it opens to 9pm when it closes. Also above me on 4th floor one of the rooms needs the plumbing fixed. It sound like someone drilling every time they used the bathroom. Thanks
