This rental is a traditional pioneer and gold miner style canvas tent. Located at the home of Wildthingz Dog Mushing, professional sled dog team of Iditarod and Yukon Quest musher Richie Beattie and wife Emily Rosenblatt, the tent offers a private setting with the opportunity to see our homestead and dogs. The 10x12 tent is built up on a wooden deck and has a solid wooden front with a door and window. The tent is for the traveler who likes to explore the path less traveled while still having some comforts and amenities. Our property is off-grid so the tent has no running water or electricity. We provide sufficient drinking and washing water and a USB solar charger for phones and other small gadgets.
There is a full sized bed and a second twin size mattress on the floor for a 3rd person.
There is a kitchenette with all cooking essentials including a propane stove, utensils, cookware, pots & pans, plates, bowls, cups etc.
We also provide coffee & tea and fixings.
Because this is a dry rental, you have a private composting outhouse & water for hand washing.
If you need to shower, the Vitus gas station 2 miles from us has showers for $5.
The property is 30 minutes from Denali National Park, a perfect distance from the activities and trails you may be interested in exploring while getting out of the busier hub of tourism.
You must have a vehicle to stay here. There is no public transportation, Lyft or Uber in the area so we recommend arranging a rental in anchorage/Fairbanks before arriving.
