“Lovely characterful pub with rooms. Lots of history and great atmosphere. Not very eco to have lots of little disposable toiletries and whilst the breakfast in the basket was a good idea, some of the products could have been more imaginative. How about a local yoghurt and cereal rather than an industrial toffee youghurt and Kellog’s variety cereals? ”

“Generally a good experience, nice room etc. Only criticism was finding it. A single door but entrance on the street but reception via the bar next door makes access confusing and difficult to spot from the road as you arrive in the car. There is no parking so it’s important to be able to see the place from the road before looking for parking that is close by.”

“Amazing themed rooms, very clean m with crisp white cotton sheets, and very comfy bed and pillows. Powerful shower and fluffy towels. Breakfast choice was amazing, cooked to order , very hot and tasty. Staff could not have been more helpful, requested more tea and milk sachets, bought to our room with 5 mins and asked if we would prefer fresh milk! Lady serving breakfast was lovely, very helpful and friendly Definitely stay here again ”

“Everything was great, the only small gripe I had was that it took a long time for the hot water to reach temperature for the shower, even using the electric boost option. Host was really helpful and room excellent and spacious for a solo traveller which was much appreciated.”

“We stayed for three nights. The bedroom and sitting room were good size. Bathroom was a good size. Coffee machine suited me. Tee cup too small for a decent cup of tea. The breakfast was fine. “Great location in a beautiful character hotel. Amazing breakfast served in beautiful room overlooking the gardens. Would be lovely to return on a warm day to sit and enjoy the outside spaces. Rooms are very comfortable, clean and provide everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Friendly staff too!”
