From the moment you step on the property you are transported back to a more elegant era. This stunning historic home has been meticulously restored, preserving the beauty of a classic 1800s mansion while updating it with all the modern touches needed for today’s comfort. Nick welcomed us in and taught us a bit of history about the property. Our Hemingway room was a perfect way to relax at the end of a long day of walking, shopping, and eating. Cozy bed, comfy sitting chair and writing desk in a beautifully minimally decorated room, with high ceilings and art reminiscent Hemingway’s great adventures. The bathroom is modern elegant with all the finishing touches and amenities of a 5 star luxury hotel. In the morning, the sitting area was a beautiful way to start the day, sitting in front of the fire with a cup of tea and a good book. The finishing touch was breakfast. Vita is a fantastic chef. The rosemary lemon French toast with homemade bread topped with fruit lemon curd and maple syrup was probably one of the most spectacular breakfasts I have ever had, my husband, (not a foodie) asked for seconds! The bread was perfectly prepared with the earthy scent of the rosemary contrasted with the tartness of the lemon curd finished with the sweetness of the fruit and the real maple syrup was amazing. Now I have to figure out how to try to replicate it. I heard she makes terrific pancakes. Will have to come back soon for that. So happy to have found this gem!!!!
