Summary:
This bright and spacious 1100 sqft 2-bedroom basement apartment has easy access to shopping and the interstate, which makes it a great "home base". It backs up to a natural space that often attracts local wildlife. The main room windows are above grade so they let in lots of light and you can see the landscape outside. The large white window wells in the 2 bedrooms also let in lots of light.
The Space:
The kitchen is stocked with utensils, microwave, refrigerator/freezer and hotplate (but no stove/oven).
We're about 1/4 mile away from a trailhead to Pulpit Rock, which offers incredible panoramic views of the entire mountain range; we definitely recommend this short (but moderately difficult) hike.
Centrally located:
- 5 to 10 minutes from theater and restaurants/shopping
- 10 minutes from Air Force Academy South Entrance
- 15 minutes to Downtown Colorado Springs
- 20 minutes to Garden of the Gods
- 25 minutes to Colorado Springs Airport
Guest Access:
You'll have full access to the entire apartment. There is a (fairly steep) gravel pathway down to the front door, but it can be a bit difficult to back down or up again with a car so please park on the street, due to a city ordinance this is required. We are located on a cul-de-sac so please be respectful of our neighbors when parking (also in general).
The Neighborhood:
The Pulpit Rock neighborhood is an established neighborhood with lots of large trees. It's secluded but central We're a short 5 minute walk to the entrance to Pulpit Rock Open Space.
Getting Around:
You'll be centrally located less than 5 minutes from either I-25 or Academy (major north/south roads) with lots of shopping, restaurants, etc. off of both. This is a suburban home so a car is going to be your best mode of transportation (true for most of Colorado Springs).
Other Things to Note:
The front door to the space is pretty tough to open. We're working on a fix for this, but in the meantime a good tug is needed to get the door open (after unlocking it, of course).
