“This property/cabin was perfect for our short visit.1 block off old town, easy walking distance. Visited Washington(town) off 49 to the north and back down to Grass Valley. Nevada City still has an old town feel to the old town area. A little disappointed in Grass valley, it's lost that. Sure the buildings are old but the closure and modernization of old town just lost a lot of appeal for me.”

“The house and property are beautiful and perfectly located. Deer and wild turkeys came right to the house. The Yuba river is at the end of the road you drive up on, you just gotta keep driving even when you hit the narrow dirt road. We went for Grass Valley but fell in love with Nevada City. Papa Bear was much bigger than we needed but we love space, and it had plenty of it. We got to sit on the backyard porch and watch the deer. “We loved our stay here, and would absolutely book it again. The house is so cute and charmingly decorated, with everything we needed for a comfortable home base. The view out the back windows is so pretty with all the trees and little creek, we saw lots of birds and butterflies, and even a couple of deer. It’s a very short walk to downtown with lots of nearby restaurants and shops. The owner was also very friendly and responsive, an overall great host.”

“The house is absolutely charming and has just about everything you may need. The noise from the highway is quite loud however, and neighbors are close by, so secluded may not be the best description. A few kitchen utensils/pans could use replacing and the games cabinet upstairs needs to be organized, but we slept ten comfortably in this home and had a wonderful time. Dina was prompt to respond to our questions prior to and during our stay and was very accommodating.”

“Everyone loved this location. The property is fantastic for families and large groups. The water situation is a huge bummer. We used bottled water for everything, including brushing our teeth. The owners are communicative and friendly. The dishes, utensils and cookware are cleaned and maintained by people renting like us, and they were all filthy. Just be prepared to bring multiple jugs of water and I recommend disposable plates, utensils etc. Its a shame bc the place is basically otherwise……
