The appearance of the property is impressive: classic, stately, almost regal. Lovely.
First disappointment: the draperies in our corner room (three windows) could not / would not open. There was never any natural daylight in the room because the windows - and the rooftop view - were inaccessible.
The biggest disappointment, however, was room service - there was none. We were there for four (4) nights. Our wastebaskets were never emptied. Even when we requested room service and agreed upon a day and time for it, it did not take place. We went to the front desk to request and pick up clean towels. The receptionists were friendly, and gave an explanation for why room service had to be requested, but even then, there was none. That spoiled the stately, classic, regal atmosphere that had been first impressed us.
