We stayed for 3 weeks at this modern apartment in Evanston and found it to be a comfortable and convenient home base for our stay in the area. An easy walk to Northwestern Univ, public transit (the "L" and Metra rail), groceries, big box stores, and restaurants, we found it easy to do everything we wanted without having a car.
When we first arrived, there were a few kitchen items we thought were missing, so we contacted Michelle, the condo's host, who immediately responded and provided the items we requested. Communication was great, including getting a heads up when the local power utility planned to cut electricity for a couple hours one day during our stay.
In terms of safety, the building felt very secure. required a key-fob for entry, and is in a very safe-feeling area. Being a second-story unit, we felt safe having windows open at night to let cool air in (instead of running the A/C). The only drawback of the unit is that it faces out on a busy road, so traffic/emergency vehicle noise is pretty significant if you open things up (although certainly much quieter at night).
In terms of amenities, the unit was great: excellent pressure in the shower, all essential kitchen appliances for coffee/tea/etc (including a wide selection of teas), modern TV with Netflix/Disney provided, fold-out desk, full-size washer/dryer, and comfortable, foam king-sized bed. The decor was also modern and appealing. For two of us, we felt very comfortable and at-home here.
