Chicago Getaway Hostel was a great choice for a quiet and affordable stay in the Windy City. Situated in the picturesque Lincoln Park area, but close to plenty of public transport options to take you downtown, there is a lot to like about this budget-friendly accommodation. The room was very clean, the bed surprisingly comfortable, the continental breakfast generous, and the amenities (including kitchen and laundry access) more than satisfactory for the price. If you arrive late or don't feel like heading out for dinner, there is a small shop on site where you can buy pre-prepared food and treats. There are a few peculiarities to deal with (e.g. in the women's showers on the second floor, you could choose between adequate lighting/ventilation or privacy, but you couldn't have both) but in general this is a great option for visitors who are happy with something "cheap and cheerful" but who still appreciate a bit of comfort along the way.
