Physically beautiful hotel, complete with a sky bar and pool. It’s very clean and the WiFi was mostly good. The location is solid, as it sits right across the street from the beach and just a short taxi ride away from the walled city. There’s also a mall nearby as well, in addition to some restaurants.
However, it’s not without its share of issues. The first thing I noticed is how you’re obliged to take two different elevators (and walk across the lobby on the 15th floor) just to get to your room. That’s incredibly inconvenient for guests. Secondly, the staff at the hotel is mediocre. My key card had to be replaced 4 times during my 8 night stay and the last time it happened, I was waiting in line for a disrespectful amount of time while employees were enjoying a personal conversation. The shower is large, but the rest of the bathroom feels cramped. Also, the tiles in the bathroom get incredibly slippery. Yes, there’s a grab bar, but who wants to hold on to a bar just to take a shower?!
One of the main reasons I chose to stay at this hotel was their beautiful pool. I soon learned that was a mistake. Despite ample room for at least two dozen more lounge chairs, the hotel currently has approximately 25 available for dozens of guests who show up every morning trying to get a tan. You’re forced to wait, indefinitely, until a guest decides to leave. A 4 star hotel should have many more available.
Also, they were understaffed at breakfast. Would I stay here again? No!
