Enjoy the serenity, 360 degree views of the surrounding valley, Rocky Mountains and Colorado star-lit skies in our premier, custom-built Salida home on 7 acres - Moonlight Acres.

This unique Salida log cabin home is perfectly located in the warmth of the valley and surrounded by farms and ranches yet only 10 minutes from Salida.

The home is fully equipped with everything you'll need for an unforgettable stay - whether working remotely, relaxing or seeking adventures. After a long day of adventure, relax by the wood-burning fireplace, on the patio around the fire pit, in the hot tub or in the infrared sauna. Your most difficult decision will be which mountain range to admire or where to stargaze and see the Milky Way. On a moonless night the stars will positively take your breath away.

The space:
Moonlight Acres sits on 7 acres of ranch land just minutes from downtown Salida, Colorado. 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath plus den, in-floor heating and front and back decks facing unobstructed views of the Sangre de Cristo to the South, the Mosquito range to the north and the Sawatch range to the northwest. While preparing your coffee in the open and bright kitchen with vaulted ceilings, you will look out through the dining area into the living room with its two story river rock fireplace and large mountain-view windows. From the living room, you will see down the valley past farms and ranches to the town of Salida and S-Mountain.

Master Bedroom: king-size bed, double-door that opens to the front deck on main floor, walk in shower, jacuzzi tub and double sink; a large walk in closet; twin folding cot and baby crib provided in MBD closet
2nd Bedroom: queen bed with mountain views on second floor
3rd Bedroom: twin bed with mountain views.
Den: comfortable sectional sofa with TV and Roku.
Sun Room: Sauna, yoga mats, exercise equipment and beverage fridge; double doors to outside deck and hot tub.
Backyard:
- Hot tub with direct view of Salida, Mt Shavano and the Swatch Range; unforgettable night sky and Milky Way.
- Fire pit with seating for all guests, views of "S" mountain, 14ers and amazing star gazing at night.

Beautiful home in Salida!
We had an incredible stay in Salida here in this beautiful log home. Spacious, clean, and fully stocked with almost everything you need! Lori is an amazing host. Take her advice on where to go and what to do! You won't be disappointed. If you are going rafting, we highly recommend Independent Whitewater (just down the road) if you want highly skilled as well as funny and kind guides. Thanks for that rec Lori! We loved relaxing on the deck/ hot tub after our daily adventures. Only bad thing was not getting to stay longer. Highly recommend!

Beautiful home in the perfect spot. It exceeded all of our expectations. The home was spotless and had everything we needed. Plenty of room for two adults and two teens to spread out. The spa and sauna were much appreciated after rafting and hiking! The location was close to town and our outdoor activities but no neighbors on top of you so it was quiet and the views...priceless! My friends and I really enjoyed our stay here. A short drive from many great hikes and super convenient to downtown. The house had everything we needed and more. Check-in and out was a breeze. Would definitely stay here again!

Just wish we could have stayed longer!
Our family of four loved this log home and Salida. Lori was wonderful to work with before and during our trip and provided a very helpful manual and list of things to do. The house is lovely - comfortable, we’ll equipped - with beautiful views all around. We appreciated being able to use the two sand-boards for our trip to the Great Sand Dunes, an easy day trip from Salida. We enjoyed the hot tub every evening after our adventures. The downtown is a short drive and a really fun family spot. The kids floated the river and we loved the shops and restaurants that we visited. My husband biked the Monarch Trail and was able to rent and shuttle with a local shop. We spent time in Breckenridge before coming to Salida, and although Breckenridge is also lovely, Salida was much more our pace and style! Highly recommend this property and area of Colorado. Great Place
Property was awesome. So much space and fun to unwind after a long day out exploring. Sitting out back and watching the stars come out was great. Only issue was that the house hold heat really good so at night it stayed warm even after the windows were opened. Upstars got a little hot but not unbearable. Lori was great to deal with the place has it all. My wife enjoyed the sauna after morning yoga on the front deck as the sun came up. Would definately stay there again.

This home was amazing! I can honestly say the best Vrbo property we’ve stayed in. Exceptional in so many ways starting with communication from owners, cleanliness, well stocked kitchen as well as toiletries for BR, hot tub, sauna, fire pit, fireplace, beautiful views from the property. We loved our stay here so much and definitely plan to book again. The location was perfect for my husband and friends to head up to Monarch for CAT skiing and perfect for us to relax, head to Salida and walk around, and enjoy spectacular sunsets in the hot tub. This may well be the best VRBO experience we've ever had, and we've used VRBO for many years. The hosts Lori and Shawn were all over my every question before we arrived and took care of all the details. The home is beautiful, spacious and quiet which is exactly what we wanted. The hot tub is amazing, and the stargazing was really great. It's close enough to Salida (10-12 minutes) but you are really out in the country with just a few neighbors. We didn't hear a peep from anyone the entire time. The spacious kitchen was perfect for our family meals and we had everything we needed to prepare them. Will definitely be back!

Incredible place!
Gorgeous property that delivered everything we wanted and hoped for for our first trip to Colorado. Nestled in a little valley area with mountains on pretty much all sides, it was perfect after two days of driving to get there. Comfortable and clean with everything you'd need for a getaway. Particularly loved the heated floors, porches, fire pit and the hot tub. (My first hot tub I've been in!) Lori was amazing, always kept in touch with us and was responsive if we had any questions or concerns. Shelso provided us with helpful guides about local attractions, food and more. It offered us way more than we could do in the time we had, and her food recommendations were absolutely on point. Would love to come back. Nearby Salida was beautiful and charming, so if we ever make it up that way again, I know where I want to stay. Highly recommend!

Great long weekend getaway
We had a wonderful, peaceful family weekend at this property. It was exactly as listed. We went for a long weekend with our 3 twenty-something sons. Great views and a really nice property with a ton of privacy. Really only saw neighboring cows (no people). Downtown Salida with grocery and restaurants only 5-10 minute drive. We used the home as a jumping off point for daytrips and hikes in the nearby Mt Shavano, Mt Antero College Peaks area. Hosts were super nice and welcoming. Since it was only 2.5 hours from our Denver home we will definitely be back.

Moonlight Acres-Perfect Salida, Co Getaway
My family and I absolutely loved staying at Moonlight Acres! The property is a stunner both inside and out! We were blown away by the gorgeous views of the mountains including breathtaking sunrises/sunsets-enjoyed on the sprawling porches. We also enjoyed family time at the fire pit and hot tub. Extremely clean and comfortable-stocked with any amenity one might need. We absolutely would recommend Moonlight Acres and hope to return someday!
