Okay, this place. Yes, the building is reeaaaalllllyyy cool. Gorgeous in fact. Our room had the best balcony with a dreamlike view. The sleeping room itself was cozy and very clean. The front desk lady that was there the night we arrived was really nice. Those are the good things. For myself, the bad things would have outweighed any good and therefore I would definitely have not stayed here. Although the building is very cool, it is not comfortable to enter and exit. It feels like a hostel set up rather than a hotel. Compared to other mid-range priced hotels in Budapest, it was not priced any lower.
The biggest problem for me was the bathroom.
It smelled really really bad. I understand it is a very old building and yes, they’re doing renovations, etc. etc. which is fine but had I known the bathroom smelled the way it did because it’s an old building and there’s sewage running through the walls, I would not have stayed there. Not shaming the company for the state of things, I just personally would not have stayed there. We had to keep the door shut the entire time because of the smell. Also strange that the water in the pitcher with two drinking glasses had a sign that said it was fine to drink the tapwater. We couldn’t imagine anything more unfine.
And with all of that said I still isn’t going to say anything about the less than transparent advertising, and ghettoey conditions but the very last day we were there the front desk guy was SO RUDE and could not be bothered
