“This was a wonderful retreat from the general DC area. Communication with owner was perfect. Space nicely laid out with everything you need, and it is minutes from the artsy, small stores and intimate restaurants in town, Shepherd University, the path along the C and O Canal, the Sunday morning farmers market, and much more! Folks who live in Shepherdstown are naturally friendly, helpful, and so welcoming to visitors. A great place to chill or be more active and simply get a refreshing g break.……

“We had 14 people stay throughout the weekend. Plenty of room to join the fun or find a quiet space. The views were stunning and kitchen was well appointed. Everyone slept wells so the beds are great. You have a small town about 4 miles away were you can pick up items you may need. Harris Teeter is 12 miles away. Great stay! Vonda ”

“Hilldale Farmhouse has a lot of history and beauty. We had a family wedding with folks traveling from Fl. we all wanted to stay in one place. It was perfect. What I did not realize was the porch with the two twin beds was only screened in. Since this was the case we had a couple folks sleeping on couches. Other than that it was wonderful. ”

“The home was beautifully decorated & very clean. We arrived at 4:00 pm on Friday & unfortunately had to leave for a family emergency at home less than an hour later so never got to explore the town or property. ”
