At the bottom of the beach stairs is a bulkhead separated into two different lounge areas. Each bulkhead lounge area features a fire pit and chairs, and is perfect for enjoying a campfire right next to the beach. There is a third lounge area with chairs on the ridge overlooking the bulkhead and beach that is is perfect for taking in the sweeping views.
We offer two recreational sit-in kayaks, two paddles, and life vests for all sizes available for your use during your stay at no extra cost. We recommend only launching during medium to high tides (see Bremerton, WA tide charts to plan your excursions).
Many beaches in the Pacific Northwest are devoid of sand and full of barnacle covered rocks. Ours is no exception… for the first 20 feet. Then, at low tide after the first 20 feet, the beach is quite muddy. Bring your mud boots for full exploration of local shellfish habitats and long quiet walks during low tides. A walk along the beach at low tide, while being quite muddy, can be a magical experience as you see tiny crabs scurrying to hide behind oysters and clams squirting water out of the mud like the Bellagio fountains.
PEOPLE WHO HAVE STAYED HERE HAVE SAID THEY ENJOY:
• …watching sunsets across Chico Bay while making s’mores over a bonfire on the bulkhead next to the beach;
• …watching seals swim around you while exploring Dyes Inlet with the provided kayaks;
• …drinking their morning coffee while watching a bald eagle catch a salmon from the Bay;
• … watching three otters sunbathing and playing on the nearby docks;
• … sightseeing at Hurricane Ridge in the Olympic National Park only a little over 2 hours away;
• … walking on to the Bremerton/Seattle ferry for a day trip to Seattle;
• … visiting the cideries in Port Townsend and learning about the tree-to-glass experience of growing apples and fermenting cider;
• … going on hikes on hundreds of nearby trails.
