This district was once located outside the city walls. It was only when the 3ᵉ enceinte was built that it became part of The Sleeping Beauty itself. Initially renowned as a haven for artisans, today it is a veritable melting pot. In the 14th century, the district was home to the magnificent Basilique Saint-Michel and its Flèche. The district is built around the square on which it stands. With its cobbled streets, wrought-iron balconies, bazaars and small shops, this district has many hidden corners. A secure "Victor Hugo" pay car park is just 200 meters away.
