"Red Bird Cottage is nestled in the small town of Athens, WV. Located not far from I-77 the location was ideal for visiting my son at Concord University. Basic businesses in Athens, Dollar General, Post Office, CVS and a park all within walking distance or a 5 minute drive. Eating establishments limited however Princeton,WV is a quick 15 minute drive. "Description of the place was accurate including location details, surroundings and trains. River is about 20 yards from the house, serene ambiance, quiet relaxing sound. Train watching was enjoyable experience and, on positive side, the trains didn't run at night (or so I think). To make it clear, watching trains wasn't a distant watching, trains run about 10-15 yards from the house. However, it didn't bother us at all to our surprise. "We loved this cabin near Marion. It’s a short drive away from being right downtown so the location is great. We had some cold weather and it stayed very warm inside. There were meant great items supplied to make us feel right at home and we really enjoyed the rustic decor and quiet surroundings. Highly recommended!"
