I showed up to check in at about 8 pm. The person at the desk nodded when I said hello. He was busy copying numbers very slowly into a receipt book. He did not say "Good evening," "I'll help you in a few minutes," or "Please have a seat while I finish this task." He didn't speak at all. After five minutes I said, "I'm here to check in." He said "yes," and went back to doing what he was doing. After ten minutes he was ready. It took another ten or fifteen minutes to check me in. He said that the computer was being slow. Checking someone in should never take twenty minutes. He silently handed me the key and that was it. This morning when I went to check out, there was no one at the desk; just a key drop box. The room itself was just fine! But because of the reception, I'm never coming back.
