The location is great! Staff friendly, good elevators. I would like to see breakfast included like the Hampton Inn nearby that I stayed in previously. The breakfast is too expensive so I went to Waffle house and saved $5 for each person.

Easy shuttle service and the drivers were great. The hotel needs a lot of maintenance ie paint, wall repairs. Several issues with our room that were addressed with staff “Sorry, we can move you “. Front desk staff seemed disinterested in finding any other solutions.

When I booked the stay it said breakfast was included but it wasn't. They have great coffee available in the morning though! I would stay here again but make sure of what really is included for the price. They are renovating the pool area and that would be something to enjoy.

We booked this hotel for 4 nights with the breakfast included room rate as was seen on our receipt from Expedia. The staff would not allow us to eat breakfast because we were not on a “list” that they had even though we had the receipt from Expedia with the words breakfast included in reservation. The room itself was average - there was only 1 trash can total in the room/bathroom and the beds were so high that I had trouble getting into and out of them as a 5’2” adult. One time the elevator had no lights at all so we had to push a button to another floor and jump back out before the doors closed in order to get another elevator to come. Overall we were dissatisfied with our stay, especially after the staff were so non-accommodating about breakfast even though we booked a room with breakfast.

Clean, safe, convenient, good breakfast, and comfortable room. Staff are efficient, friendly, and helpful. The decor of the rooms is getting a little long in the tooth. That said, I would stay there the next time I’m in the area.

The room smelled like mold and dampness. I asked to change rooms but unfortunately, there were no vacancies so we just stayed because there weren’t any vacancies in the other hotels nearby. I was told that there had been a flood in the hotel.

We went to Alabama just for two days to see our son, a student in the University of Alabama, and to see the game Bama vs. Georgia. The hotel was coveniently located close enough to the airport (10 min) and had all the amenities we needed, that airport hotels may not have had. Staff were lovely, bed comfortable, room clean. If we ever in town again, we'd love to stay there once more.

Embassy Suites saved our vacation

Upon entering the hotel, there was a horrible natural gas smell that overtook the entire hotel. I got an immediate headache While checking in. I mentioned it to reception and was told that it’s normal because of the pilot lights from the grill. As we proceeded upstairs to the third floor, we noticed that the smell was also in the elevator and our room. We were uninformed that construction was taking place, so there was definitely a mess and the pool was unacceptable because of the construction. Fortunately We took immediate action and called another Hilton hotel that was located in Birmingham. Because of a convention they were booked however they accommodated us immediately and rebooked us at the Embassy suites downtown. The only thing I can say good about the garden inn Is the location is easy on and off the major highway. I would not choose to stay there again, especially for the price.
