We arrived around 7 pm. We got our key and went to the room which was across from the street. the day was very hot and humid and when we went into the room, the air conditioner was not on and the room was hot and smelled bad. We got the air conditioner started and it kept shutting off. We finally got it to stay on and left to meet our guests for dinner. We returned to our room around 10 pm and the air conditioner was off. The room was hot and smelly. There was no one in the office so we stuck it out. We got the air conditioner back on, sprayed Lysol in the room, and went to sleep. The A/C turned off several times during the night, which required us to turn it back on. In the morning, our toilet backed up and overflowed onto the floor. We tried calling the office and no one answered. My husband dressed, and drove to the office around 8:00 am and no one was there. He ran into a cleaning woman, who spoke no English, but dialed a number on a phone and handed it to my husband. My husband discussed the situation with another person who spoke broken English and was told they would come by. Two men came with towels, mopped up the water, and left, stating they would check. They came and told us that there was a broken pipe in the basement. By this point, it was 10:30 and we had not showered or eaten. We made a reservation at another hotel for that evening, packed up, and left. We got a call at 1:00 pm stating that they could put us in a different room... No thanks!
