It's a B & B, not a hotel. This means you are staying in the owner's home. You have to share the bathroom and breakfast table with other guests, and you need to keep the owners informed if you're checking in later than 10PM.
If you're happy with this, you get a nice spacious room in a large, solid, house in a pleasant suburb of Basel, about 2 mins walk from the Freidorf stop of tram 14. It took about 15-20 mins on tram 14 to th city centre.
I slept well in this quiet location, and greatly enjoyed the good quality continental breakfast, served with amazing coffee and great service. Everything was spotless clean, the shower was nice and hot (I didn't use the spa bath with jets, though it looked tempting after a long day hiking.) It was also nice waking to a view of a garden instead of a city street.
Celestine and Gisela were excellent hosts - thank you both
