“Room 40 was one of the best hotel rooms in which we have ever had the pleasure to stay. Right on the Columbia river with sweeping views, resident sea lions, a well-appointed room thoughtfully designed to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. A welcome glass of champagne was also much appreciated. Highly recommended. ”

“We were able to get in early which let us prep for an afternoon event. It was new, clean, comfy and relatively quiet considering the traffic and rain. Good price and good accommodations ”

“We had an exceptional stay! The room was warm and beautifully designed, with incredible attention to detail. The fireplace added such a cozy touch, and I loved relaxing by the window seat with the provided binoculars to watch the wildlife and ships along the Columbia River, every room seems to have an amazing view! The bathroom felt like a private spa. There was a gorgeous claw-foot tub perfectly positioned to take in the scenery, plus a luxurious spa shower and separate water closet. The……

“Hotel breakfast is always a vit minimal. The Elliots is better than most, but a challenge for vegans. That said, I love the hotel's charm, authentic restoration and location. The staff is great. I'll definitely be back again. ”

“The location was outstanding with easy access on foot to eveything in downtown Astoria. Check-in process and instruction were clear and easy to follow. The rooms were comfortable, well-appointed and spacious for a house under 800 sq. ft. While we enjoyed the house and our stay very much, I was a little shocked and disappointed that the view is no longer of the river, but of a 3-story building under construction. Might consider updating the listing picture. ”
