“Beautiful property with expansive grounds. The pool and beach area are beautiful, but we were very disappointed that guests were permitted to personal music systems very loudly at both locations. For a resort of this cost and caliber, we expected a more upscale experience. Also, the food at the restaurants was disappointing, even for a hotel, and lemongrass was terrible. Also, the hotel made no mention of the villa rooms being across the street, up an enormous hill and only accessible via golf……

“We had two rooms - 221, which was updated, nicely furnished, and comfortable deck furniture. Bathroom and kitchen had also been renovated. Room 222 on the other have was very outdated, no decorations on walls, uncomfortable plastic furniture. The bathroom had a low grade sewer smell and the toilet water regurgitated a yellow-brown color backwash. The restaurant and bar were excellent. Lexie was terrific. ”

“So here’s the thing: This place probably used to be majestic, and the more people that stay there, the better I assume it will get, from the revenue generated. It’s currently mid-renovation, and only one of the big houses is even open. So you’re basically getting a studio apartment (maybe there are bigger suites) on the side of a Caribbean mountain (my cabbie said, “this is just a little hill…”). You CAN see the city and the water, but neither is all that close so rent your own car or spend more……

“We loved our two-room partial ocean-view villa. Clean, quiet and not too far from the pool. We enjoyed the food at the restaurant by the pool, Jermaine at the bar was a pleasure to chat with and he even got to know our favorite drinks. We enjoyed the property overall, but I wished I knew it was a timeshare property. “The property is an old castle and this is the only reason for the 4. Just so people know. The section that has been renovated is a good 5. The room was excellent, the view was really nice, people really nice. The one restaurant has excellent food. The pool and view really nice. At the restaurant the the sea and land special when they have it, but it is more money. Overall I recommend this place ”
