Pictures are much better than the actual rooms. The idea and overall design is good, but the maintenance is terrible. The place is already showing great signs of wear and tear. The paint is peeling. The walls are filthy. The floors are chipped and coming apart. There is no inside security lock on the doors. Parking is very tight. This place has potential of being a cute boutique hotel if it was taken care of. Staff is very friendly.

When we checked in it was pretty easy. But getting into the room, the 2nd floor makes you feel like you are going to fall off the ledge. The room smelled like mildew and the bed was broken. It is about a 20 minute walk to the Mickey and friends parking structure but it seems like it is advertised that it is closer by. Parking was very stressful and not the best. I parked in the under cover parking and someone in a van parked right behind me even though there were tons of other spaces and it made it super hard to pull my car out. You were also not allowed to put the A/C lower than 70 which it was so hot and humid out side so it was hard to be on the room that wasn't cool enough.

Booked this hotel after my two usual sites had unreasonably high rates for the two night stay. It was my family’s first visit to Maingate Inn. We frequent Disneyland about every 30 days. We arrived late at night, checked in with front desk in less than 5 minutes. Parking right in front of room. Very affordable parking costs compared to nearby hotels. Room was clean, lots of towels, fridge was cold, beds were comfortable. Fast and easy check out. Very quick drive to Disney parking lots. I didn’t use the included shampoo because I had packed my own, but it smelled fantastic. I forgot to place the do not disturb placard on the door and returned to my clean room after a park day without my belongings being disturbed. My only “complaint” is that the walls are thin and if the neighboring rooms have their tv on late, you’ll hear it even at a reasonable volume. I do wish there was a folding luggage rack in the closet, what a first world problem, right? Overall, I really enjoyed my stay here and will definitely stay again. The rates are great so when I bring even the adult children, and book two rooms, they have adjoining rooms available.

When we first got there, the parking lot was completely full. There are barely any parking spots and if you have a larger vehicle… good luck. We were told to park in the handicap spot because it was the only spot left… We went into the lobby and got our hotel key and directions for getting around. The staff was kind and helpful! As we are walking to our room, the balcony of the second floor feels like you’re going to fall off with how slanted it is. It is sturdy but very very slanted. We get to our room and are immediately greeted by a cockroach right by our bed. I was able to “sweep” it out of the room, down the hallway and then outside on the balcony with our little map/brochure that they gave to us. The water from our sink smelled like sulfur. The room does come with a mini fridge that was clean inside. This was nice because after the cockroach, we didn’t want to leave any of our snacks out and we put everything in the fridge. When we went to bed we plugged our phone chargers into the outlets right by our bed. The outlet by the window worked fine, but the one on the side of the door was wired incorrectly and only worked when you had the bedside light switch turned on. We had to unscrew the lightbulb in order to sleep and have our phones charge by the bed. The bedding and mattress was clean. If you aren’t looking for luxury and are in major desperate need for a place to stay close to Disney land this place will do the job as long as you stay there just to sleep.

We had parking right out front our room that was $11 a night. About 15-20 minute walk to downtown Disney. Front desk was kind and helpful. There’s an entrance to the park for pass holders right next to the hotel for those that have one. Bed is SO comfortable. Our room was very nice, it’s only if you really look that you notice some maintenance imperfections. No windows in our room but the privacy was nice in my opinion.

I want to preface that my review is more of a reflection on the comfort of our stay, not the service. The staff onsite was extremely friendly and there are certainly plenty of good reasons to stay at Maingate. However, the room itself was quite a let down. The bed was very uncomfortable. The mattress was thin and worn in. The bedding itself was not very soft. Water pressure in the shower was sad. The outlets were sparse and the one closest to our bed was inconveniently right behind the mattress, did not hold plugs well (resulting in dead phones in the morning), and the faceplate was broken, slightly exposing the electrical components inside (a safety concern). Combined, these smaller issues really limited our ability to recover after long days at the park. It was not all bad. Our room and the property itself was very clean and we felt safe while there (can’t say the same about other budget properties in the area). Also, the air conditioning was fantastic, so at least we were never hot. The nightly parking fee is the lowest in the area and we never had problems finding a place to park. It’s also walking distance to the Disney parking structure, where you can grab the tram to the park. This wasn’t our first time staying here. There are rooms on the property where we didn’t have these issues. I guess it’s just a matter of luck. If we do decide to stay here again, we just have to hope we get a better room.

I’ve stayed at Anaheim Maingate several times because the location and price are hard to beat, and overall, this stay was okay. However, there were a few things that made this experience less enjoyable than previous visits. There was some confusion regarding a possible complimentary upgrade. I emailed ahead of time and was told they would try, so when I called, I was surprised to find out that the upgrade would actually come with an additional fee. I completely understand if a complimentary upgrade isn’t available—I didn’t mind that at all. It was simply the miscommunication that was confusing. The front desk staff member who helped us when we arrived was nice, but there was only one person working. If they needed to assist someone with a room issue, they would put up a sign saying they’d be back soon. After driving 6–7 hours, it was a little disappointing to arrive and then have to stand around waiting rather than feeling immediately welcomed. Another issue was the cleanliness around the office. There were ants and other bugs crawling around, which was especially noticeable when trying to get water from the dispenser. I’m not sure if the heat contributed to it, but it was definitely unusual and not something I expected. We also requested additional towels since we had three guests and the room initially had only one face towel, one hand towel, and three bath towels. The request itself was handled fine, but when the towels were delivered, the staff member waited outside o

we loved how close to Disney and downtown Disney we were very walkable the room was very clean and spacious the coffee maker had no coffee or filters and it had hard water stains the ac was nice and cold the only things I noticed and that's because my family is in construction is the uneven shower tiles great view of the fireworks every night at 9:30PM we just had to open the curtains and had a good view obviously not as a great as you would see then from the park or Disney downtown but it was still great to see from bed at night would deffinetly stay there again
