Perfect central and quiet Canal Apartment

Stylish and quiet ground floor apartment in one of Amsterdam's most beautiful neighborhoods. Enjoy a village-like atmosphere a stone’s throw away from the buzz. A perfect and peaceful retreat after a busy day of sightseeing. Public transport, supermarket, restaurants, bars and (organic) market within walking distance.
The bright and sunny canal side apartment consists of a spacious living room, a bedroom with a luxurious king-size bed, a bathroom and a well-equipped kitchen with state-of-the-art DeLonghi whole bean coffee machine. The sofa couch in the living room can be easily converted into a large second bed for two adults.
The apartment is nicely furnished and includes a Smart TV, with a full range of channels, wireless Sennheiser headphones, high-speed WiFi and a Sonos One speaker.
The Western Isles neighborhood is like a village on the edge of the historical city center. Four hundred years ago it was the first expansion of Amsterdam. It is a quiet neighborhood made up of canals and converted warehouses. As Lonely Planet puts it: "The artistic and creative soul of the city hidden in the charming Western Isles. This small archipelago is bathed in wonderful tranquility, but is awakened from its slumber by bobbing houseboats and bicycles rattling over the wooden bridges. Beneath the former grain , herring and tobacco warehouses, intrepid travelers will now find studios making everything from film and music to painting and designer furniture”.
The Haarlemmerplein with a supermarket and organic market on Wednesdays is only 150 meters away. The famous shopping street Haarlemmerdijk is a 200 meter walk, the lively Jordaan with its bars and restaurants 500 meters, Central Station is a 15 minute walk or a short bus ride. The Anne Frank House is 1.5 km away and Dam Square is 2 km away.
Bus and tram stop 'Haarlemmerplein' 150 meters away. Taxi from Schiphol Airport 20 minutes, € 60.

A great family stay
The apartment is in the great location, not far from the central station and the city centre. The host met us on arrival and showed us the apartment which was well equipped and comfortable. We had some cheese and wine left for us. The coffee machine (fresh beans) in the kitchen was fabulous. We’ll be back in the future.

Lovely place!
We had a wonderful stay! Everything was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the special welcoming snacks and wine! Great communication with the owner. It was a convenient location and easy to walk or catch an Uber to main attractions. If we are ever back in Amsterdam we would definitely return to this lovely apartment!

Respite Before Return
Stayed a couple of nights in Amsterdam before heading home (after a week in Belgium). The place is a great, quiet location, but easily accessible to public transportation to get around the city. It was the ending weekend of Pride Week, so there were a lot of active crowds in the city. Making this quiet home even more appreciated for being able to get rest in the evenings. Would definitely stay here on my next trip to Amsterdam.

Great place, nice location and wonderful host
We stayed for a week last year and enjoyed it so much that when we saw a 3 day opening at the end of this vacation we decided to return. The apartment is very comfortable, well located, about 5 minutes away from the central rail station by bus, close to shops, restaurants, canals, a park and a grocery. It’s easy to make day trips from Amsterdam. The apartment is on ground level, nice sized living room with dining table, large comfortable bed, small but adequate kitchen and bath. Sebastian is great and very helpful with suggestions and recommendations. We had fun again so hope to return next year.

From the pictures we thought this would be a canal view however there are cars blocking it as it was a walk out. Opening the door and people watching was fine though. Walking to Jordaan or the city square was 18min or less and both safe and straight forward, it was great Sebastian was outgoing and answered questions quickly

Our stay at Sebastian's place was simply the best I have ever had. Sebastian's commitment to ensure the best possible stay went so far above and beyond what was expected that it will be a tough experience to top. Between the generous welcome gift, to mapping out where to go, providing recommendations and even facilitating luggage storage and a ride to the airport on our departure day, it was a truly exceptional experience. Great apartment in Amsterdam.
My husband and I spent 8 days in Sebastian’s apartment. Everything was perfect. The flat is in a great location, very clean, with a comfortable bed and a wonderful coffee maker. We even had a welcoming bottle of wine and snacks awaiting us when we arrived. Sebastian provided a neighborhood guide to restaurants, grocery stores, laundry etc. He answered all our questions very promptly. All in all he was an excellent host and we would highly recommend this flat to anyone.

Peaceful and Clean Accommodations
We were so happy with our apartment. The street was so peaceful. You couldn’t hear a thing. The accommodations were immaculate. All amenities needed. Our host was right there to meet us when we arrived by taxi and helped with our luggage even though it was early in the morning. The coffeemaker was wonderful. We enjoyed the freshly ground coffee and espresso it made. Lots of storage space. Comfy bed and linens. Very spacious. Very safe. We could walk to a nearby square where the tram #5 stopped. The building is situated in front of a canal. Parakeets flying around and the cooing of pigeons were the icing on the cake. We would definitely stay here again. Sebastian answered my questions promptly by email when we had a question and was very helpful.

Our host, Sebastian, was a true gentleman from beginning to end. We spent 8 days in this apartment after taking a transatlantic cruise. Sebastian was kind to greet us when we arrived early and stowed our suitcases. From there, he had maps and area information readily available, answered questions promptly, furnished fresh towels half-way through our stay, and even offered to mail our package back to the States for us. The apartment is located in a safe, residential area on a canal. Restaurants, the bus headed into Central Station and a grocery store was an easy walk; just a block away. We would definitely stay in this well appointed property and heartily recommend it for any and all travelers.

Very clean, quiet apartment on a backwater canal. 5 minute walk to buses and local restaurants/shopping. Sebastian is an excellent host. We walked from Amsterdam Centraal train station as it was Kings Day and crazy busy. Took about 30 minutes. After we got used to the buses we had access to everything.

Sebastian was a great host, making our check in and out friendly and easy. The apartment is exactly as listed, and the location could not be better. Perfect Apt in Great Location
Sebastian was a fabulous host! He was out of town and still arranged for us to be greeted and he stayed in touch throughout our stay. We loved the location and took advantage of Sebastian's culinary recommendations. The grocery store was close, as well as the tram and busses. The apartment was even nicer than in the photographs. Very clean and comfortable. We loved the espresso machine!

The apartment worked out really well. It was a short walk to the center of everything, and very quick to the train station. Yet far enough to be nice and quiet. Some nice spots to eat, drink a short walk away. And the host was more than attentive and helpful to us. Would recommend for sure!

Amazing Apartment
We started making our 2 week anniversary trip arrangements a year ago. We wanted an apartment that offered us a place that felt safe, clean, comfortable & convenient to both restaurants & transportation and this place had it all. One of the perks was how the apartment is designed with a separate king size bedroom. Super comfortable bed, I might add. Sebastian was so helpful before we arrived and during our stay with our questions. Super knowledgeable about the area too. Staying here made our 35th anniversary trip even more special. When we return, it will be the #1 place on our list to stay at! 😊

A super stay with a SUPER host
The property was just as described, even better. Ground floor access was a plus. The neighbourhood was quiet, close to scenic neighbourhoods and canals yet close to a transit hub, groceries and a cool shopping street. Sebastian was a super host, welcoming with a bottle of wine plus cheese. Always available with advice, response to any issues and kept the unit supplied and clean weekly. A plus that he lives in the building too. We were incredibly impressed with Amsterdam and could well return.
