Great stopover on our way to the Picton ferry. Meal option was great, nice renovation, clean, tidy, comfy bed..Exceeded our expectations. Would stay there again. Recommended

Mostly clean room. Bin hadn’t been emptied of a drink can and there was a ‘toffee pop’ biscuit under the chair. Shared bathroom which I didn’t think I was getting when I booked the room. Poor breakfast choices. Could not access the fire escape from the room as the window only opened about three inches. Frightening safety issue. The room booklet stated the restaurant was closed Monday and a Tuesday when in fact this was not true and had not been updated - I would not be surprised if people ate elsewhere as a consequence. One of the staff told me this was meant to be updated when the new owners took over last year but I thought this was a small detail which was sloppy and could lead to financial loss.

Loved that this older pub has been completely refurbished to a high degree. Loved the Don Binney paintings and large pictures in dining area. Lovely outdoor garden bar.

Our stay was for one night for the purpose of getting people to Chch airport from Blenheim. The accomodation facilities were ideal for two couples at a reasonable rate. Facilities modern and clean.

Chambre non conforme à sa description

Selon le descriptif sur hôtels.com, la chambre avait une salle de bain. En fait celle-ci était partagée, dans le couloir :( La bouilloire annoncée était aussi manquante. La chambre s’appelait « standard double ». Elle était toute petite, avec juste de quoi faire le tour du lit. L’hôtel nous a proposé une chambre avec salle de bain, mais contre un supplément et en attendant un délai indéterminé pour qu’elle soit nettoyée (il était 19h!). Nous avons refusé. Côté positif, le lit était confortable, la chambre presque propre (à part une serviette sale qui avait été oubliée) et la salle de bain partagée était grande et bien équipée.

A pleasant surprise

Check in was esrly and done efficiently. Happy helpful staff. The room was very nice. Its a pub and had a restaurant as well which provided delicious food. The room was large, clean, and very comfortable with a well stocked kitchenette. Even had breakfast cereals in the cupboard with more available in seperate communal area which was also very clean and tidy. Bread, fruit, and milk all available to use The eds were super comfy I would highly recommend this place to stay to anyone

The only place to stay in the area!

A delightful hotel in a small NZ town. Great amenities nearby,, great room set ups (some with kettles, toasters etc). Loved the breakfast area of the hotel too, a great place to make toast/cereal if you’re up too early!

Be sure to visit the restaurant. The food is great. Check-in and check-out of the hotel is a little confusing with no on-site staff. Having posted instructions would help. The shared bathrooms and kitchenette are clean.
