Stay in this one-of-a-kind house on a 30-acre property nestled on the banks of the Little Juniata River, one of the eastern US's premier wild brown trout streams. Watch bald eagles, ospreys, deer, and mink from the windows and decks on the riverside of the house. Easily fish the river from the front yard with the ability to wade up or downstream for miles. The River House is also a perfect location for kayaking, canoeing, and tubing the river with access from the front yard which extends right into the river. Or just relax around the fire pit under the Sycamore canopy and watch and listen to the river flow with your friends and family!
The River House: The main floor includes a beautiful fireplace, dining, and living areas, as well as a screened-in porch and deck all with views of the Little Juniata. There's a full kitchen and outdoor gas grill, half bath, laundry room, game table, and one bedroom with a full bath. Upstairs there's a second bedroom with a full bath and an open sleeping area with two twin beds with its own full bath. There's also a sitting area with a pull-out couch and an upper balcony overlooking the river. The house has central air and heat.
Places Of Interest/Things To Do: Fishing, kayaking, canoeing, or tubing in the Little Juniata River (outside your door!), bike riding from the house along the Little Juniata River or at Rails-to-Trails on the other side of Alexandria along the Frankstown Branch of the Juniata River (3 miles), hiking paths on our private 30-acre property or miles of paths in Rothrock State Park (4 miles), visit Raystown Lake (18 miles to 7 Points Marina), Juniata College (9 miles), Lincoln Caverns (6 miles), Bluegills Bar and Grill (2 miles), Huntingdon (10 miles), State College (22 miles), and Altoona (29 miles).
