“Room was a good size and we had everything provided that we required. Staff very helpful. Used the washing machine and dryer which was very welcome after travelling around South Island. Lots of restaurants close by and more if you wished to walk a bit further over to the harbour. Worth booking if the area is busy. It was quiet when we were there and a few the restaurants were still fully booked. A quick vacuum of the stairs and the balcony area would have given it a 5 star, but we couldn't……

“This home looks exactly like the pictures, such a tranquil and beautiful spot. The window up by the bed added to the atmosphere and was so magical when it rained. Hosts were wonderful too and gave us lots of privacy.”

“The bed and bathroom are clean, other places are very dirty and dusty. Vintage doesn’t mean dirty, there are lots of spider silks around the little garden and walkway outside the staple suite, the room has no air conditioning, which mean you have to open some windows for ventilation, but all windows are actually glass doors, if you open windows mean you open the doors while sleeping without locking, next to our room is a backdoor entrance to and from the street, but it was not locked! Which……

“This was a unique stay in the midst of a wild and beautiful garden with flowers and herbs and hens flourishing all around. The host is an olde world treasure and the accommodation is lush and yet welcoming. Just lovely.”

“It might be in my best interest not to say this (as I would like unfettered access for myself) but this is a spectacular property. The house is spacious and well set up in every way. The grounds around the house are similarly well set up and beautiful in every way (plants, birds, views,…). Communication was great. I give it my highest rating…”
