“We stayed at the Rydges for the weekend, and found it to be a great hotel, with modern facilities and large rooms. The bed was very comfortable and the room quiet and dark. Perfect for that sleep in. About the only downside is the location. It is a bit of a drive from the centre of town and doesn’t have any restaurants or pubs near by. It is a $15 taxi ride from the heart of Kalgoorlie to the Rydges, so not too bad. The staff were very friendly and efficient, although the reception was unmanned……

“I found the lack of power points a bit frustrating. I travel for work and use my laptop to produce reports and the only power point available was at the other end of the room from where the table and chairs were located. Not conducive for business travel if you need to plug in for power. On the bright side, the staff at reception and the restaurant were very friendly. The meal was served quickly and had a generous portion.”

“A small, pretty, windy town. Good meal in the Pub & only eating venue open. Accom was clean & well appointed. Probably would help tourists travelling 3-6hrs (it’s a o/nite stop between tourist towns) to be flexible re arrival times. “We had a stellar time at the Talbot Farmhouse and it made for a lovely location for Christmas. The entire booking process with smooth and Natalie's communication made it all the more easier and we knew what to expect. The place is better than the photos. Large open spaces, fully stocked chef's kitchen with almost every utensil you need and the decor is functional but lovely.
