“If you like old style charm, you will love this place. The town is extremely quiet, so we arrived with a personal note on the note addressed to us, front door unlocked, and key in the door of our room. It was an early century 3 story house so clean and comfortable, we felt very cozy and safe. The proprietor has everything ready for you and has a phone number to call if any questions or issues. The table is set with a good continental breakfast, no charge, coffee and juices. This was set up……

“The house has a very homey feel to it. It feels like you're staying at your grandparents' house. We loved the hot tub and made good use of it. The heat worked real well. A couple notes/ suggestions. Ad needs to be changed about what is provided. Ad says no toilet paper, trash bags, paper towels, dishwasher pods or trash bags. But all those items were actually proved in the welcome basket, so I needlessly packed them. I was pleasantly surprised that although not provided, other tenants……

“Our stay started off rocky. There was a storm that knocked out the power right before we arrived. Half our stay was in the dark, lol Other than the power outage, we enjoyed our stay so much. We can’t wait for a return visit next year. ”

“Beautiful location! Sorta close to grocery & gas. Resort may have food store. Didn’t check. Looks fantastic inside. Paneling design great. Plenty of room for family or separate space. Great front porch. Great covered deck with table in back. ”

“House was a little worn, but not too bad. Hot tub worked but made ENORMOUS amount of noise that could be heard everywhere in the house 24/7. Upstairs toilet required constant plunging. 4PM check-in is a little late.”

“Great stay. Absoluely loved the cabin. It was so homey and cozy and in a great location. So glad we found this little hidden treasure.”

“Our family had a great time staying at the Refuge. There was plenty of space for both sets of grand parents, our kids, and us. The house was beautiful and was even decorated for the holidays. The close proximity to Deep Creek and state parks, along with the heated pool made it a great stay. We will definitely be back.”
