「Lovely hotel in very convenient and beautiful riverside setting. A few minutes walk through Cathedral Close (gates open until 11pm) to picturesque City Centre. Comfortable beds, plentiful good quality breakfast buffet with attentive staff. The only downside is the decor is very tired, including several broken boarded up windows in public spaces that await replacement」

「The Bear Hotel is an oldest hotel in the town. It’s more than 500 yrs old .. but it still keeping very well. The dinner is so yumny and staffs are good. 」

「The Kings Arms Coaching Inn is a rather quirky place to stay, partly updated and partly still a bit oldy worldly. It has a very friendly atmosphere and staff and we enjoyed our 6 night stay very much. We used it as our base for walks in the country side, visiting family and a trip to Bath. The food is good too, and we were also impressed by the local Italian style restaurants, especially Aroma.」

「Perfect for a stopover visiting bath. Room was good size and very large bathroom, but there was a slight musty smell and the bathroom was very cold as the only form of heating was the towel rail which wasn’t working properly. Lovely old building and very helpful staff.」

「I was In the old part and it needs updating badly. Excited when I saw a spa bath in my room but bath was worn around the plug area and not appealing so wasted. Toilet was stained with brown as old. Taps on sink worn and spun round a lot before water came out. 」
