「The staff were excellent, very friendly, helpful & welcoming. The room was clean, warm & comfortable. We booked a double superior room & although the bed was very big the room was really quite small & ready for some refurbishment. The bathroom, again whilst clean, warm & functional, was very small and looked to have been designed & installed by a poor ‘DIY’er. The breakfast was very nice with the staff service again being first class.」

「My husband and I used the hotel as a base to explore the area. It was perfect. The building is immaculate. The welcome at reception was warm and very helpful. All of the staff we spoke to were friendly, seemed happy and were very accommodating. The food in Tykes was very good. Fresh milk in the fridge in the room - perfect. Easy parking in a large car park. Absolutely lovely place to stay and we hope to again. 」

「Stay was ok, i am vegetarian and it was like being an after thought. One choice on the menu which was pasta. I gad a starter as a main coursein the end. No alternatives for a vegetarian breakfast. I justvthink its a bit poor. I pay the same as others and there is no alternative 」

「The provided facilities, in terms of the fridge shack etc could do with updating and the site is a lot smaller than anticipated so we were greatful of only one other pod being occupied. Had there have been others there, there wouldn’t have been much privacy at all. Coat hooks being on the same wall as the plugs/shelf etc meant coats hanging over the kettle , but the pod itself was lovely and clean, amazingly comfortable bed. 「We had a lovely stay at the Black Swan. Very impressed with the staff very friendly and efficient. Breakfast was nice and the lunches and evening meals were very good too. Ideal location and lovely homely feel. Would definitely visit again, good value for money 」

「This is a wonderful property and unusual for a hotel with a spa. It is located in the market town of Helmsley which offers a great selection of places to wander to. The hotel has a range of rooms - this time we stayed in a spa suite and couldn’t fault it. A large entrance into a separate living area, a huge bedroom and bathroom with fabulous bath tub and separate shower. Breakfast was delicious with a range of options. 「We were allowed to park our car up due to arriving early. the room was warm & the shower was hot and powerful. we stayed in rm4 (king size four poster bed) there was a mini fridge with complimentary two cans of coke & water ( nice touch)All lights were electric, lots of power points, the blinds to the windows were electric. they even provided a iron & board !! there was a safe as well. 「A nightmare experience lived in this hotel, this hotel need to contact the staff after 4 pm check-in, you can only contact a phone number, we did not have a phone number in the UK, so we need to find someone on the street to contact the staff, finally we could contact the staff, with a very bad attitude with impolite words spoke to us, never book this hotel especially for foreigners!」
