Beautiful house and location!

This is a great house on the Washougal River. Lots of things to do in the area, but also lovely to just spend time here. Everything was spotless and the house is quite comfortable with lots of space.

Does life get any better than sipping coffee while you look out three bay windows at the river and a waterfall? This place is a truly unique home in a gorgeous natural setting, just minutes from downtown Washougal and Camas.

Lovely getaway with amazing views

This stay had the best river view and private waterfall to look at! There were so many trails around the property, and it really felt like we’re out in nature, with all of the comforts of a beautiful home. It was very cozy, and we enjoyed it very much!

Wooded Paradise

This home was better than expected! Welcoming, warm and comfortable inside. Big windows not only let in light, but framed the beautiful property. I literally said WOW when I came down the stairs. The location with the river, swimming hole, little waterfall across the way, trees (which were in fall colors),groomed hiking trail… words truly don’t do justice to this property! Secluded yet not far from stores, waterfalls and adventures. Will be booking again!

We didn't want to leave!

This home is nestled into a beautiful wooded area along the Washsougal River. It was so peaceful and relaxing that we could have stayed another week or two. The log cabin is spacious and quaint. It provided everything we needed from a stocked kitchen, comfy beds, plenty of towels and chairs for hanging riverside. I enjoyed running along the winding roads that provided gorgeous views. We would love to come back and stay here again. We didn't want to leave!

Great home by the river

We have stayed in several rental homes and this was the cleanest we have ever stayed in. Most rentals have minimal amount of clean towels and this one had more than enough. There were 4 adults staying here for 5 days and there were probably 10 clean towels when we left. The wifi isn't very good and that would be the only downside. I would highly recommend this home.

Beautiful, quiet retreat

It was a wonderful location for a reunion of friends. Plenty of space and sleeping accommodations. As noted in some of the other reviews, you may want to bring your own additional firewood. The view of the river and water fall was relaxing. WiFi seemed to work pretty well, although we limited our time on it. Would definitely stay there again.

Exactly what we needed

Stunning location. It was picturesque, well appointed and absolutely perfect for our extended family. So many amazing touches in the home - the rocks in the flooring and fireplace were stunning and a conversation point as we discovered new favorites. Beds were ridiculously comfortable, with really lovely and clean bedding. The kitchen was well stocked, and had great space for cooking. Only one of us used the hot tub due to the weather being very warm during our stay, but he found it clean and relaxing. The beach area was a favorite, and while the water was cold, it was fun to wade in and even get submerged! We watched wood ducks playing on the water, too. We had a lovely time and are already planning to come back. Highly recommended!

The home was beautiful and the online photos did not do it justice. Make sure you check your emails and Vacasa app for info the day before arriving for entry info and screenshot it. service on phones was impossible. No problem once connected to WIFI.

The Best Getaway in YEARS!!

I highly recommend this home. It was just far enough out but close enough to run into the stores as well. The internet was slow and we loved every minute of that. We played games, did puzzles, cooked amazing meals, drank adult drinks, fished, walked trails, read books, relaxed in the hot tub, sat on the upper balcony watched the river go by, enjoyed the warmth and crackling of the fire, and slept like a baby. It was the PERFECT fall break that was so desperately needed.

The location is the bright spot

3.5 ish...The location is gorgeous, nestled on the river and not too far from the city. The beds were comfy and the sofas were too. The dining area was cramped and the cleaning was a little spotty in places. Pots, pans, and dishes were nice, but surprised that there were no spices, baking things, etc...be prepared to being your own if you want to cook.

Amazing Secluded Property

Absolutely loved the location of this property. It's a little far from anything, like a major grocery store (20 minute drive), but there is a very cute general store just a couple of miles up the road. The house is very secluded on a beautiful piece of property and it's right on a beautiful river. We thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors at all times of the day. I would highly recommend this property, but you have to be ok with driving very windy roads to get anywhere. If you can't let internet or tv go, you may have an issue. To my surprise, we didn't miss it at all. Beds were very comfortable, but if you're sensitive to light, you might want to bring some eye cover for sleeping in the queen bedroom upstairs as the curtains are very sheer. At the time of year we were there, the daylight hours were about 5:00 am to 9:00 pm.

Perfect view but wish I knew more....

Could not say enough good things about the river, views, and hearing the sound of the waterfall/river all night long. It is much better in person, than in the pictures. There were a few good things, like endless supply of clean towels, fun antique decor, lawn chairs to use, washer/dryer, and a well-stocked kitchen. However, there were a few things that would defer me from renting this place again. 1- the musty mildew smell is very strong. Every item we had in the home still smells even after washing. 2- All the threats of neighbors that will call the cops if noisy, trespassing signs that read "we do not call 911", $2000 potential fee if noise heard after hours etc. etc, really made us feel very unsafe and unwanted amongst locals that did not want tourists in their area. We did not have a problem, but I was very uncomfortable, especially at night, with no cell service knowing others were watching and not wanting us there. 3- We saw other people/neighbors walking around going to the river (not from Eva's cottage), and an inflatable boat stored for non-renters hiding in the weeds. Again, this made me feel unsafe with others not renting the 2 properties wandering around on the property. The property had a code for the gate, but the gate was open 24/7 and even if it was locked, anyone can walk around the gate and still get in. Also not 100% sure that the house code is unique to each guest, this was also outdated compared to others 4- This was not an overly clean property. Upon arrival, we were picking up cheerios and other children's snacks in the kitchen and master bedroom, the silverware was covered with coffee grinds, and the fridge was dirty in the inside to mention a few. We made sure to wash every kitchen item before usage. The house just needed a good dusting and cleaning. 5- The hot tub was dirty. We made sure to follow the rules to avoid yet another added $75 fee, and hosed down before getting in, only to find the hot tub was already full of debris from prior guests. There were other imperfections that we could work around as we realized going into it, it was an older cabin, so we were prepared, but we were not prepared for the items listed above and we did not feel it worth the $$. I loved the history of the home and respect that it was a special family home, but I felt like the guests were expected to be perfect but the property was not close to perfect. I hope this helps give a better understanding of what you may face when renting this property. Again, outside of feeling unwanted and unsafe, could not ask for a prettier location and we were able to do our own cleaning and adjusting to still make it a good week.
