The owner is incredibly responsive and has very good knowledge of the area including local road crews, law enforcement, etc. Whoch made me much more comfortable driving up in the winter storm. 「we booked this room as we needed an overnight stay during a road trip. the room was nice and the location worked out great for the trip. the toilet bowl a noticeable smell. and there was no hot water. since we arrived pretty late we were hoping we can shower in the morning and leave but the water was freezing. we could barely wash our faces. there were no instructions as to how to turn the water heater on (assuming there was one) and we were in a rush so we couldn't wait for an answer.」

「Our group of men, (70+) has a tradition of an annual gathering for 41 years. Until Covid hit we camped in the Markleeville area. We are now comfortable with a house rental. This is our second year staying at 255 Sunrise Trail and the home suits our group perfectly. We feel comfortable and at home in this house.」

「When my wife and I stayed it appears that they were in the process of updating and renovating this entire motel. The interior of our room had already been updated with fresh paint, new fixtures, floors, bed, bed stands, flat screen tv and a remodeled bathroom. 「Such a short stay it’s difficult to review. Fun 50’s vibe. Management is remodeling after last year’s devastating fires, but honestly couldn’t tell if our room was a remodel or not! It was comfortable but bare-boned. The walls are paper thin, and our neighbor next to us had her TV on until 4 am. The BBQ place right across the highway was a great find! We’d definitely give them a second chance next time we travel that way.」
