1. Gateway Arch

The Gateway Arch is St. Louis’ most recognizable landmark. The 630-foot (192-meter) high stainless steel archway looms high over downtown. Climb to the top for breath-taking 360-degree views of the city. There’s a museum, educational cinema, gift shop and gourmet food store inside the arch.

2. St. Louis Zoo

From majestic big cats to miniature butterflies, come face-to-face with animals from all over the world at the St. Louis Zoo. The zoo, spread across 90 acres (36 hectares) in the city’s Forest Park, is home to hundreds of species of animals. It is one of the few free zoos in the United States.

3. Forest Park

Get to the heart of St. Louis life by setting aside at least a day to explore Forest Park. Across about 1,300 acres (530 hectares), this vast green space incorporates a wide range of environments, including forests, creeks and lakes. 5. Museum of Transportation
