"The host was welcoming and attentive. My vegetarian breakfast was tasty and very nice. Parking outside property. Room was clean and comfortable. Heat control tap was stiff and struggled to release a cooler temperature in the shower. Otherwise a lovely stay. "

"The room was generally clean, but the en-suite had quite a bit of mould across the ceiling and the shower felt cramped, despite the large cubicle, due to the shower itself being squashed into the corner of the cubicle.The furniture is somewhat 'distressed' , but the bed was very comfortable and the duvet was great. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast on our first morning was very good, however, on the second morning the fried egg yolks were hard, but the whites were runny and oily. Plenty of Tea bags and Coffee were supplied in the room, but only 4 small milk pots, which were not replenished. The Chestnuts is ideally located in the beautiful town of Bourton-on-the water, with plenty of pubs/restaurants. Parking can be a bit of a chore due to the small number of private spaces available to the B&B. You can park on the street for a maximum of 90 mins, although after 6 pm, you can park overnight free. We had a great short break and will definitely return to the Cotswolds, although probably not to this B&B."

"Great friendly hotel right in the heart of the village in walking distance to everything of interest. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and spacious with a welcome gift and free toiletries. Breakfast was tasty with a good selection to choose from. Really enjoyed our 2 night stay "

"The Lavender Cottage was straight out of a post card. The spiral staircase was difficult to navigate with large suitcases but it worked out just fine. Everything about the cottage was wonderful. The only thing to mention is that YOU NEED TO READ THE WELCOME BOOK. We were so excited to start our vacation that we skipped it at first. There are two keys. One for door and one for a closet that houses the trash bin. Yah… we missed that and we only brought one key (the wrong key) with us as we locked the door. It was impossible for us as Americans to dial the emergency number (doesn’t make sense to us either) but we had a wonderful hostess at a local restaurant that let us borrow her phone. The whole thing was a comedy of errors that was 100% our fault. We panicked and were ready to call the police when we FINALLY got through to the host. Again… this was our fault and just recommend reading the welcome book before locking the door behind you. Oh! And there is no parking. Like ZERO. We ended up parking about a 10 minute walk away and spent an extra 20 pounds per night for the inconvenience. But it was all worth it. Great place in a great location!"
