「We were attending a reunion dinner in Hitchin and did not want to be driving home late so we arranged to stay in town. We were therefore only staying for sleep and breakfast. The beds themselves were comfortable but the radiator in the room was not working which made for a cold night, especially as the windows were not double glazed. Breakfast was included and was excellent, with any combinaton of buffet and cooked items.」

「Pros: Great location if you’re visiting / doing business in Ampthill. Great food and drinks downstairs. The staff were always friendly, helpful and welcoming. Cons: no on premise parking. Closest parking is a municipal lot…10 pounds for 24 hours. When I checked in my room was made up as 2 singles instead of a double as requested. Beds were a tad small & uncomfortable. Walls are thin, I could hear my neighbors “chatting” until midnight the night before I was planning on checking out. Otherwise...

「Had a great stay at The Embankment! Was met by the very enthusiastic Bethany who made check in a real pleasure and gave us some local recommendations which turned out to be fantastic! Room was clean and comfortable. Tea and coffee was of a high standard, as we're the biscuits! Bar area had a really good vibe and all staff we met/viewed were friendly and professional. 「The staff were nice and friendly The room was nice, with kettle and tea and coffe supplies Kettle was a bit faulty, wouldnt stay on to boil, I had to hold the button down until it boiled There was a little balcony, however it was locked off, which is fine because i didnt pay for a balcony room. 「The room and view facilities were fantastic. The bar and restaurant downstairs were busy, but the accommodation upstairs was quiet. The Polish lad (I think) who works there was really friendly, helpful, and quirky.
