We stayed in the Judges Chambers. We enjoyed staying in a 19th century period room that had largely been restored in terms of furnishings. There were lots of detailed instructions in the room about the rules and what the area had to offer. The location is excellent, near to downtown and the waterfront. The kitchen was well stocked with coffees, teas, cream, etc as well as a good selection of cutlery, cooking utensils, pots, etc. The modern conveniences and decor installed when first renovated in the early 1990s (kitchen, bathroom) are tired and dated and some of the original and modern reproduction furniture could use some repair. I sense that the property would benefit from new energy. We were a bit disappointed that the host tried to shame us into tipping the cleaning staff ("they are single moms") as we felt that he was expecting us to offset possible exploitative wages. At these prices I expect the staff to be properly compensated by management.
