Very nice boarding house in a renovated historic building, with a very central location in the old town. This is not a hotel, and there is no staff present most of the time, however it provided everything we needed. Before our arrival, we received a text message (in Romanian) giving us the code for the exterior door, as well as our room number. From there, we easily found our room, which was unlocked, with the keys inside the room. Careful: if you bought a new Sim card for Europe, be sure to check your old one for your text messages. If you don't get the message, there is a phone number indicated next to the exterior door which you can call to speak to someone. As for the room itself, it was very nice, clean, spacious and quiet. The AC was also very effective - I didn't understand how the remote worked, but somehow, magically, the AC did. We stayed 2 nights but could picture ourselves staying there for longer in the future. The King room features a mini fridge, seating area and a very nice jacuzzi bath, but no shower. That is, there is a showerhead in the bath, but it is not fixed to the wall, you have to hold it in one hand to clean yourself. For us, it worked out and we enjoyed taking baths, but it's something to be aware of. Finally, note that checkout is 11 not noon as in many other hotels (my bad, it was in fact clearly indicated on Expedia). All in all, we had a very nice time at Cetatea Medievala and would stay there again. You will not be disappointed.
