Me and my family decided to stay here for one night while visiting old son one on our way to Vieques. I was pleasantly pleased with Crystal and her team during my visit. They were very kind and helpful. The location is absolutely perfection. It is in the heart of old San Juan, the room itself was beautiful and the Chandeliers everywhere in the hallways were gorgeous, you can tell that the attention of detail was well planned out when designing this place I will definitely be staying again in the future and highly recommend to anybody planning to stay here in old San Juan and I’d like to mention this was a very safe spot and many food/ restaurant options nearby. The room itself also had great AC and the beds were very comfortable, and super clean.

Small room with small bathroom and shower. The "Welcome" binder was a good idea with information and recommended places to eat but it mentioned relaxing with the bottle of champagne they had supplied (but there was no bottle of champagne) On the second night there was a heavy rain and I woke up to puddles in the room (The Patio Room). The slamming door at the bottom of the stairwell wasn't appreciated. There has to be something they can do to stop it from slamming every time someone uses the stairs. I could hear it loud and clear in my room.

Casa of essence is located in a really convenient location in old san juan which allows to explore it easily with a lot of options for food, drinks, and music all around. The Bamboo room is overall good and comfy, but there was a moldy odor in the room. We also saw cockroaches in the bathroom and near the fridge. This didn’t ruin our experience, so I recommend this location for your stay in the beautiful San Juan.

Very clean and cozy. The bed and pillows were VERY comfortable! Safe there were 3 different locked doors between entrance and including room door. Air conditioning with controls to put how you want! Will definitely stay again!

Charming, old facility ... Room is relatively quiet considering it is located on a busy street . Bathroom needs brighter lighting.Name of the hotel needs to be posted on or near the front entrance to make it easier to find while driving. Will return on our next visit to OSJ.

Crystal was responsive, kind and helpful. She let us drop our bags while we explored and allowed an early check-in. The property's location was super convenient to all areas of Old San Juan with a multitude of restaurants, historic architecture and sights within easy walking distance. Would definitely stay again!

Large and airy room on second floor of an old building in the center of Old San Juan. Great (secure) location for walking the city. Refrigerator, microwave, and sink for minor cooking. Two very big doors open to small balconies overlooking the street. Quiet at night with the air condition on. Highly recommended for those who like quirky accommodations.

I had a pleasant stay at Casa of Essence. There were a few things I wasn't expecting... No hot water in the bathroom sink or the kitchen. The shower was lukewarm water. The tile floors had a shellac on them that was peeling off everywhere so I couldn't walk barefoot anywhere in the suite. The staff was nice...I just feel these issues should have been noted by Expedia
