This is traditional island housing. You are in the jungle and, from a noise perspective, it feels like tent camping. You will hear lizards, birds, and animal noises throughout the night. The TV from the bar area sounded like it was in our room. They are doing construction and started at daylight (too early for me). The construction is a temporary issue, but if you are booking soon, you should check with them if you are concerned.
During our stay, only one person we talked to could speak English. I had to use a translator app on my phone, and I asked for help with a taxi and was told to wait by the road and wave one down, which worked fine. The water park area is currently in disrepair. I would not travel with little ones and expect them to be satisfied. This place will work great for people who have lots of activities planned and just need a place to sleep, assuming you are a heavy sleeper (my daughter said it was fine), or bring earplugs.
The positives: Wi-Fi coverage, jungle feel (if that is what you want), comfortable beds with very soft sheets (you only get a sheet, no blankets), and budget price.
