This is a very nice, yet simple one-room cabin on 13+ acres with 360 degree views. It is ideal for a couple or small family of 4. If you have friends with an RV or tent, they can stay outside the cabin ($20 per person per night over 4 people). The cabin sits on a knoll about 1/4 mile as the crow flies above the charming little town of Republic. You can see the whole town from here, as well as the mountains beyond in all directions. The cabin has been updated with new flooring and kitchen cabinets. The kitchen has everything you need for preparing meals, and there is also a dual propane/charcoal grill.
There is one queen Murphy bed and one full-size futon for sleeping, so max 4 people inside the cabin.
It also has space for 2 RVs. One space is covered, max 24 feet, with a 50 amp service. The other is open and can accommodate larger RVs. We are in the process of installing a 50 amp service for this space. Tents are also welcome outside the cabin. There is plenty of flat space.
There is an outhouse with a flush toilet, and an outhouse with a sawdust toilet. There is also an outdoor shower with hot water.
We manage to drive a Prius up to it, but there are many potholes to navigate. You can access the cabin with a high-clearance vehicle and/or careful and slow driving. Larger RVs may find it difficult to get up to the top of the property, as the final driveway is steep.
You can hike to town across Granite Creek two different ways. Or the drive is about 2 miles. I will be happy to share maps with you when you book. There is public land and timberland adjacent to the cabin, so you can hike or bike for miles.
If you have ever rented a forest service cabin, this is similar, although it also has electricity and a full kitchen setup. If you are looking to get away from it all and spend time on the porch taking in the view and the stars, this is the spot. Yet you can also make a quick run into town for whatever you need (restaurants, grocery store, and brewery).
