Welcome to Brigadoon by the Sea. Unplug, renew, and discover the natural shores of Broadkill Beach. Great for nature lovers. Dog friendly! House is on a quiet dead-end street, with all the amenities of home. Panoramic views of Delaware Bay! Enjoy the sandy beaches just steps away. Fish; play in the gentle surf; or simply relax on the gated expansive bayfront deck.

10 minutes to grocery stores and shopping in downtown Milton, 30 minutes to shopping, entertainment and beaches in Lewes and Rehoboth Beach.

The most wonderful stay
Admittingly, My husband and I usually enjoy a mountain and lake house over the beach however after staying in this property our minds have been changed. The beach was absolutely amazing. We immediately fell in love with the remote beauty of it. We were able to enjoy nature and soak in the quiet moments, which is what we needed. I felt the stress of everyday life melt away as soon as I stepped onto the property. Our daughter enjoyed going into the water as the waves were docile and calm and the sand was so soft. We spent hours just walking along the shore admiring the shells we found. We also loved how the home and beach were dog friendly as well. The house itself was wonderful. Remote enough to enjoy peace but close enough to drive to Rehoboth Beach in the evening when we wanted to enjoy the boardwalk and amusements there. The house was fully stocked with what we needed to ensure a great trip. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed the deck overlooking the water. We loved the light and airy décor and admired the fox painting with his top hat and pipe! The warm water in the outside shower was a bonus and so lovely! The host Terry was extremely gracious even before we checked in. I could not ask for a better stay and host and we most definitely will be returning. This is such a special place and gem of an area and hope it remains this way. I am so glad we stumbled upon this property and booked our trip. Thanks for giving us a space to reconnect to nature and with our family.

Fabulous Broadkill Weekend
We had a wonderful visit to Broadkill Beach thanks to our stay in this lovely cottage. Great layout, comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen, beautiful views, and friendly neighbors. We loved being able to take our dog with us and appreciated all of the thoughtful touches especially the fenced in deck. This is our second time staying in one of Terry's beach houses and we were very impressed by the quality, the ease of communication, and the cleanliness. We had a fun night eating boiled crabs and mussels at The Surfing Crab (an easy drive from Broadkill) and were very happy to be here for the seasonal opening of the Broadkill Store (didn't get up early enough for doughnuts but the breakfast sandwiches were great!). Thanks for another great trip to Broadkill Beach, Terry!

Great place on the bay
We stayed for a long weekend with our two dogs. The place is great, open layout with views to the water. Large comfortable couch and several comfy chairs. A short walk through the dunes to the beach. The kitchen could use some cookware upgrades. If you are planning much indoor cooking you might do well to bring along a few large pans. We didn't use the outside grill, but it looked fine. The description did not state that sheets and towels are not included, so be advised. This was stated in the pre-trip email, but it would have been good to know sooner. The bed was super comfortable! There is a gate on the deck that keeps the kids or dogs away from the stairs, which was a great convenience. Overall the place is really nice,comfortable and perfectly situated on the beach!

Yes! You should stay here.
Location location location. The house echoed exactly as it was presented on VRBO. Just the right size and steps to the beach! The open concept was amazing so we could cook, play games and relax all in the same room and still be able to hang out and talk to each other. Sidenote, all of the seating options was fantastic, ample chairs, and a giant comfortable couch! Aside from the waves I could’ve heard a pin drop. The location was perfect. The weather was perfect. The house was perfect. Thank you so much Terry for sharing The Brigadoon!!! We will be back :)

We enjoyed our stay. House has a very nice layout - big great room with comfortable sofa, chairs and two dining tables - we used one for jigsaw puzzles. Great view of the bay from the deck and inside the house. Terry is an excellent host who quickly responded to the few questions we had.

Amazing stay! (again)
We've stayed here twice now in 2022 and 2023. Great location. Easy, private beach access for lazy days back and forth at the beach. Bay is great for little kids. Beach quietness reminds me of the outerbanks. Plus - great host who helped us fix a minor furniture issue quickly. Highly recommend and will stay here again next year!

Excellent for Dogs and slow pace
We enjoyed our stay,host was prompt and friendly. We had our family and our dog, it was laid out well and plenty of room for all. The area was nice and everyone in the area was so nice and helpful. Rehobeth isn’t too far away if you’re looking for more to do. Otherwise great area to hang out on the beach or sit on the porch. The Broadkill store was nice they were very helpful. We talked to the neighbors who were awesome and everyone had dogs. Nice beach for the dogs to get out and off leash after 5. Mine I don’t trust so much but the other dogs seemed to enjoy the freedom. This was an enjoyable time for us even with the looming Canadian smoke and they aren’t kidding about the flys. They didn’t bother us too much but one day they were on the war path, I will say they are present all the time. All in all excellent place would definitely recommend!

Nice pet friendly vacation spot
The house was nice for our group of four adults and our dogs. Some things in the house could use updating, but we hardly noticed since much of our time was spent enjoying the view from the deck or on the beach. It was quiet and peaceful, and with Lewes and Rehoboth nearby, we were very happy with the location. Check in and out were easy and Terry was super quick to respond when we needed help!

Quiet solace in late October
Comfortable home adjacent to the nature preserve and Delaware Bay with a small dune buffer filled with wildlife was just what our senses needed. Twenty minutes to most amenities otherwise - it’s quiet and beautiful.

Super relaxing autumn weekend
We had a lovely stay at Broadkill Beach. We didn’t see any other people on the beach but there were a bunch of horseshoe crabs and whelk egg casinos to see. Our dog had a lovely time walking on the beach and sniffing everything. It is a gorgeous view from the porch. The beds were super comfy and the house had everything we needed. I didn’t realize the Broadkill store closes in September to we had to drive to get food and supplies but that was fine. We drove into Lewes and Rehoboth to explore as well. Overall an excellent and relaxing weekend.

Great family vacation on Broadkill Beach. Close drive to Lewes but yet far enough for peace and quiet off season. House is great location right on the water, so easy walk to the beach with a young toddler. Can't wait to stay again next year!

A perfect vacation
What a lovely beach house. I would suggest the owner add some more coffee cups, dessert plates, caulender, and chopping knifes. All in all though, my husband, friends, and dog were very pleased. The location was perfect. The short walk to the sand was terrific! We really enjoyed the privacy of the property and the sparsely populated beach. That was likely due to the time of year; post Labor Day week. I was nervous about the biting flies I'd heard so much about, but that was all for nothing. Even having a few off/on rain days lent themselves to serious outlet shopping nearby, boardwalk strolls in Rehobeth and restaurant roulette. A perfect vacation! Thank you for letting us use your home. We will be back!!

Beautiful Area
The house is very clean, updated and the location is remote away from commercialization areas. We were literally the only ones on the beach in our immediate area. It's very private. Not commercialized or fancy stores, but Lewes and Rohoboth Beaches are very close by for funland Amusement park for kids, waterpark, souvenirs and the boardwalk along with Atlantic. The Broadkill Beach store was a perfect little shop for anything that you forgot. One suggestion would be to have full length mirrors on closet doors and upgrade to elongated toilets when it's time to replace. Bring bug spray, we found that if the wind is not blowing strongly, it was impossible to stay at the beach or outside to eat on the porch. The mosquitos and sand flies are fierce. The Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge backs up to the property and you definitely know it. We had a pair of foxes visit us at 5:30 a.m. one morning and the birds sing all morning long while drinking coffee on the deck. We have the app "Marine Traffic" and used it every day/evening to see what ships were coming and going from the bay. Very interesting to see the many countries travelling through the Bay. It was very nice and we enjoyed the house and area.
