Discover your mountain log cabin getaway with room for everyone! This home is spread out over 3 floors with 5 bedrooms sleeping a total of 14. It is located on a private cul-de-sac in a gated community situated on the New River. Enjoy your own private pond with dock and gazebo, porches on 2 levels overlooking the water. Inside enjoy an open floor plan with a 2 story family room, open concept dining/kitchen with seating for 16. Wrap around porches provide a relaxing atmosphere to rest and recharge. The lower level provides a bunk room, second bedroom with King bed, bathroom and large family/game room with bunkbeds that opens onto lower level porches overlooking the pond. Master is on the main level with new mountain log King bed, private bath and covered porch access overlooking the pond. Upstairs discover 2 oversized King bedrooms with a twin bed and bathroom. Bring your fishing pole to fish in the pond, neighborhood hiking trails, 5 minutes from tube/kayak rentals. Easy driving distance to West Jefferson, Mt. Jefferson, New River state park, Grayson Highlands, and the Creeper trail. Welcome to Running Doe Lodge where you can experience: rest and relaxation, hiking, biking, tubing, kayaking, pond fishing, fly fishing, small town charm, shopping, wineries/breweries, and a great place to make memories.

Magical holiday weekend. Beautiful and comfortable home decorated for Christmas. Lovely walking trail, deer, gorgeous views. Short trip to West Jefferson which was like a Hallmark movie. Easy check in. Home is as described, everone said their beds were comfy.

This is a perfect property for a large group. There are lots of beds and the kitchen has an amazing quantity of dishes and flatwear as well as pots and pans, the house is beautiful with lovely views. The owner is very responsive. There are lots of places to go nearby.

Everyone loves this lodge.

My entire family was pleased with this lodge. It was spacious, beautifully appointed, well furnished and had a place and more for all of us to sleep. The basement was great for privacy for the kids to get away and for their parents to be close by for sleeping. We loved the decor too.

Our group of 4 families stayed here for a long weekend for the second year in a row and this year was even better than the last. We had kids ranging from 1-7 and everyone had a blast. Great Cabin Vacation

This cabin is one of a kind. Three floors where each of my two sons had their family and my wife and I on main level. Very clean and accommodating. Nice fish pond where we caught and released many fish. Had nightly fire in fire pit. Took my golf cart and the grandkids enjoyed the evening rides throughout the community seeing many deer. No close neighbors. I highly recommend this property for a relaxing, yet adventurous vacation.

The property was located in a wonderful neighborhood and was in perfect shape for a larger group to stay. We had 10 guests and had lots of space and the house had great immensities and the property keener provided lots of things to do. Very close to nice restaurant and not far from Grayson Highlands which is what brought our group in to visit. 5 stars across the board.

This property was absolutely beautiful, inside and out! The house was so clean, well designed, functional and enjoyable. The decks were so perfect for beautiful or rainy weather. What an amazing vacation for our family! We enjoyed this beautiful home & property so much & can't recommend it enough. It was so spacious, yet so cozy. The home was super clean & just had so many unique touches. Lots of seating in the kitchen & family room. Large bedrooms & bathrooms. Large, well-equipped kitchen (& a grill on the deck!). We enjoyed fishing in the pond, walking the trails, smores at the fire pit, fun competition in the game room, & just hanging out on the porch. Our family enjoyed this home more than any we have ever stayed in & we made so many wonderful memories. Tana was a wonderful host and was so responsive to our questions. Running Doe Lodge will likely be an annual tradition now for our family.
